Night-Bird's Feather Preview

Hi all! I wanted to share a preview video for my novel, "The Night-Bird's Feather," which is currently available for preorder on Amazon!

It is probably very important to note that if the book's first day sales or its first week sales are enough to push me out of my usual circles of readers and get the book in front of a new audience, I'm planning to let people read a playtest draft of the forthcoming 4th edition of Nobilis! 

Right now, we're not there yet---the preorders I have are probably at least an order of magnitude short.

... but I'm working on setting up paperback preorders, so maybe that'll change!

That said, I suspect I may need help spreading word.

Anyway!

The status on the book is:

• A) It goes live on September 22nd.
• B) I have a very nice ePub, pretty enough for my fairly demanding tastes and sane enough for ePubCheck, but I have a friend working on an even better one, so I'll be going over that in early September to validate the improvement.
• C) Kirkus just reviewed the book here! Lee Moyer is sticking a quote from that review and another recent review on the back cover; that was the last thing needing to be finalized on the paperback form, so after that's done, I'll get a final proof copy, approve it, and hopefully paperback preorders will be available immediately!
• C2) ... but I have no idea if that's true, maybe the system will have it take weeks to make paperback copies available. If that happens, and it pushes it past Sep 22, I will give a second shot at the playtest draft. ^_^

If you're here, like, bothering to read posts on my particular Patreon, then you'll probably love the book. I think you might love it even if you aren't here, reading this post, but I'm not sure how we're actually interacting at all.

It's some of my best work, either way.

Besides "some of my best," it's ... an epic fantasy with a veritable smoothie of other fantasy subgenres mixed in (and a dash of the literary, too), with a focus on the social construction of worth, the internal process of constructing experience, the weight of accumulated preconceptions of the self, and dysmorphia. Lately I've been calling it Vita Nostra meets Spirited Away. ^_^
