New Resident Evil 8 patch breaking trainers

Resident Evil Village got a patch today, it's likely the version they're using for the DLC that's being released in less than two weeks.

With this version, they added new anti-tamper code that scans for changes to the game made in memory and then makes the game quit if changes are detected. This makes the RE8 trainer in my mod manager no longer compatible.

I'll look at this situation again once the DLC is out, but I'm thinking I'll simply retire my RE8 trainer (I'll probably still keep it there if people ever end up using the previous game version). The primary feature was the 3rd person mod, and Capcom will be adding that as an official mode, so I don't have much reason to ensure that mod is still working. The other parts of the trainer were pretty minor, anyway (FOV change, which is something you can do via file modding anyway; vignette removal; and HUD removal).

Edit: This patch causes the game to crash on start-up for many people even if the game is fully unmodified. If this is happening to you, you can install praydog's RE Framework to fix the issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1196590/discussions/0/5002961597094108389/

Ethan head mod? One that adds a head to his first person model? That's part of the 3rd person mod, though I'm not sure if there's much point to it now.

is there perhaps an ethan head mod u know?

For the story campaign? If you get the DLC, then you get an official 3rd person mode that works better than the one I had made.
