This mod has two variants, one that censors the global release of the game, and one that uncensors the Japanese release. Note, it's not a full uncensor or censor as it does not affect textures and animation files.
This is how the Japanese version is censored:
- Textures of dismembered limbs are 100% black.
- Playable characters never lose their head or get cut into two (though it is implied by the camera moving out of view).
- Enemies never get cut into two or lose a large portion of their torso.
- Regenerators are less gory somehow.
These two mods disable/enable behaviour listed above but it does not affect any textures or animation files, so certain content will still be in their uncensored or censored forms, like dismembered limb textures won't be modified, camera during death animations will be unaltered, and some death animations where Leon is sliced into two. I might try to update this in the future to include the different textures and animations for a full uncensor/censor, but that would require a lot more work.
The mods are compatible with the game as of 2023/04/10 and works with Japanese and global versions of RE4R.
Install using Fluffy Mod Manager.
