Demigoddess
Added 2023-01-17 12:00:04 +0000 UTCCaitlin was sitting on the soft grass with her eyes closed, life and death energy swirling around her nonstop. Across from her, Seth’s eyes were staring at her without moving, working with the system and monitoring every change happening in the energy around them, her source, and her body.
Two days passed seamlessly until Caitlin’s eyes snapped open. The air all around took a ghastly green color, and her body got covered in a gentle white light.
Caitlin looked at Seth with a pained expression as she saw him getting older, his body turning to ashes, only his sources remaining afloat in mid-air before his sources started getting covered in flesh and bones again, the process repeating itself continuously.
‘Don’t get distracted. I’m fine. Finish the transformation.’ said Seth, as if he was not even noticing what was happening to him.
Caitlin bit her lower lip and nodded, agreeing that was the best way to stop it. Focusing on her breakthrough again, a popping sound resounded from her chest, and her source slowly floated forward, exiting her heart.
Her body, unsupported by her source, also got drained of all its life energy and crumbled to ashes on the spot. The small source kept revolving on itself while floating in mid-air, its vortex expanding, pushing against the sixth shell.
Even with all its energy attacking the shell, there was no damage to it whatsoever. That was until a new foggy energy slowly started spreading from the middle of the life and death vortex, mixing with the vortex at the center. With the new energy added into the mix, the vortex’s rotation increased, and the shell finally showed signs of cracking.
The process was very slow; the cracks barely extended, and it took Caitlin another day until they covered her sixth shell entirely.
*Pop*
With a popping sound, the shell broke into pieces, greedily absorbed into the vortex of energy inside the life and death source. Her remaining shells started turning transparent, with only the vortex remaining completely opaque.
After the shell was broken entirely and absorbed, the spinning of the vortex finally slowed down. The energy tormenting Seth’s body also went away instantly, absorbed back inside the vortex, ending the long torment.
For miles around the two, the land had transformed into a seemingly unstable area of dead and alive zones. There would be trees, green grass, and animals at one step and nothing but barren earth at the other.
Seth didn’t care about the damage to his body and the area; his eyes focused on the source hovering right in front of him.
‘Can you hear me?’ he asked using his link, knowing her breakthrough had succeeded.
It took a moment, but eventually, Caitlin’s words resounded in Seth’s mind. ‘Is that it? How do I materialize?’
Hearing her voice, Seth chuckled with a relieved expression and started moving his hand toward Caitlin’s source. ‘I’ll tell you, but first, I need to enter your soul. Don’t fight back, or my soul will get injured.’
‘How do I not fight back?’
‘Just relax and, whatever discomfort you might feel, don’t fight against it.’
‘I’ll try…’
Seth smiled and caught the small source in the palm of his hand, closing his eyes and allowing his lust source to form a link between them.
In the next moment, he was hovering above a giant sea of life and death energy, his body projection surrounded by a tiny filament of lust energy. With his appearance, a small amount of the sea waters rose, taking Caitlin’s form in mid-air.
“This is my soul sea, isn’t it?” asked Caitlin in excitement.
Seth nodded and said: “It is. Now, move us to the edge.”
Caitlin tilted her head to the side and asked: “The edge?”
The next moment, their surroundings changed, and they appeared under a thin, transparent energy membrane wall. Caitlin looked up and asked: “Is this a soul construct?”
“Yes. Under us is the part of your soul that has fused with your life and death energy. Above is the part still left to convert.”
“Think of your soul like a giant cup. Once you gather enough energy to reach this ceiling, you’ll be able to attempt your breakthrough into the eighth shell. Above that is one more ceiling which will allow you to reach the ninth shell once you break through again.”
“Two more breakthroughs and your soul would have turned into pure life and death energy. After that, you’ll be a pure life and death existence.”
Caitlin looked upwards and nodded in understanding before looking back down at Seth. “I see, but why did you want to come here?”
“To meet someone.” Said Seth with a smile before yelling out loud. “I know you’re here. Come out.”
Caitlin realized what he meant and waited patiently as well. In but a moment, a small orb appeared in front of the two, taking the form of Caitlin in her childhood, with only half of its body alive. The skin of the other half appeared rotten and repulsive to the sight, fusing seamlessly with the healthy side.
Caitlin looked at the thing in front of her in disgust and moved closer to Seth. “Is that the will of life and death?”
The little girl looked between the two, and her mouth opened to speak. “We are, my host.”
Caitlin looked even more disgusted after it spoke and drew closer to Seth, climbing onto his body like a child herself.
Seth chuckled and ignored Caitlin for a moment before asking: “What memories have you regained?”
“Not many, but we remember our hate for that thing you’re carrying inside you, human. We hate it almost as much as we hate Him.”
“Him?” asked Seth with a raised eyebrow.
The will of life and death frowned at his question. “We don’t seem to remember much about it, but a name is lingering inside our energy.” - the face of the will contorted in deep anger as it continued: “Asher, The World Sovereign.”
Seth smiled at their words and nodded: “I see. Well, it feels good to put a name to his title, but I also came here to meet you and check something for myself. Even if I somewhat got my answer, I still have to ask: will you seek to corrupt your host’s soul?”
“We do not, human. We only seek to ask our host for help reaching our goals.”
“Your goals?” asked Seth in confusion.
“Indeed. We don’t know our goal yet, but when we recover, we hope our host will lend us her help.”
Seth sighed and nodded: “I am quite curious about your goal as well, but if it doesn’t intervene with mine, I’ll be more than happy to help you as long as you don’t endanger my lover, your host.”
“We trust your word, human. That other aura you’re carrying around you… feels nostalgic and trustworthy. Nothing like the one locked deep inside your soul.”
Seth raised a hand, looking at the small shield of lust energy protecting his consciousness, and smiled. “Alright. Go back into slumber. I won’t disturb you any longer.”
The will of life and death disappeared into thin air, and Seth looked down at Caitlin in her arms. “Why are you so antsy around it? It’s part of your soul, you know?”
“But it’s so… bleugh…” exclaimed Caitlin with an exaggerated expression.
“It took your form, more or less, so you shouldn’t say that about yourself.”
“That was your form.” Rebuked Caitlin, moving away from his arms. “It looks nothing like me.”
Seth chuckled again and said: “Fine, fine. Have it your way. I’m leaving this place now that I met it.”
“To take form, pass your consciousness through the bottom of your soul sea, and you’ll be outside your source shells. After that, will your energy to form a new body.”
After giving his instructions, Seth disappeared from her soul space and returned to his body. After opening his eyes, he could feel Caitlin’s source trembling in his hand’s palm, and he gently pushed it away.
After separating from Seth’s body, energy started leaking out of it, slowly taking the form of Caitlin before her body started slowly materializing. With her body reformed, Caitlin looked over it several times, pinching her newfound skin to see if it was alright before smiling at Seth.
“I’m back.”
“Welcome back.” Said Seth, standing up from the ground and coming to pull her in his arms. “Come inside me.”
Caitlin looked up at him and asked with her eyebrows raised: “Excuse me?!”
“I want to show you something. Undo your material form, and will your source to enter my body.”
“Can I do that?”
“Of course, you can. You’re basically a ghost now.”
“You’re the ghost.” Said Caitlin with a pout, her body turning into energy and entering her source before slowly heading toward Seth’s heart.
‘Further down, you silly girl, or you’ll hit one of my sources.’ Exclaimed Seth using his link and the small source flew down, digging a hole through his stomach before fixing the damage it made.
‘Now what? Not to be rude, but being inside you sucks.’ Asked Caitlin.
‘Slowly connect with the life energy inside my body, but be careful not to push my control away.’
Seth could feel uncomfortable all over his body, but he didn’t fight back. Eventually, he watched as his hand moved outside his control and lifted itself in front of his eyes.
‘What the fuck??? I’m you? And why am I getting fed life energy like crazy?’
‘Because my body can create life energy pretty much endlessly. Courtesy of the Tower. This is your ideal cultivation place from now on.’ Replied Seth, slowly teleporting back towards the capital.
‘Inside you? This is uncomfortable... Oh, I can feel it. Damn, I can even contract it. Will it grow bigger?’
‘Stop playing around in my pants. Focus on getting used to the absorption of energy and your possession ability. Also, don’t pry around my sources, or they might get damaged.’
For the remainder of the day-long journey back, Seth had to get used to his body moving uncontrollably from time to time, which was quite an unpleasant feeling. Once they reached the capital’s outskirts, he stopped before entering the city proper.
‘Get out. I’ll let you return once we start our seclusion.’
With his words, Caitlin’s source exited his body and rematerialized her own a few feet away from him. Stretching herself, she exclaimed: “It’s good to be back inside my own body.”
“It’s also good not to have a parasite poking around in my body, but we need to get used to it so you can progress faster.” Said Seth.
“You told me to do it. Also, don’t call me a parasite.” Said Caitlin with a pout.
Seth kissed her puffy lips, pulling her into his arms. After breaking the kiss, he grabbed her chin and said: “You’re a cute parasite.”
Caitlin’s face reddened, and she asked shyly. “Can I get another one? I want to taste something sweet after everything that happened.”
Seth chuckled and kissed her again, this time more passionately than before. Halfway through their kiss, Caitlin pulled apart and asked: “Wait a moment. If my body is like this now… what about food? And sex?”
Seth flicked her panicked face and asked: “Did you feel that? Also, that kiss from earlier, didn’t you say it tasted sweet? Your body is a perfect replica. You can do everything you’ve been doing before. If anything, you can manipulate your senses to feel things even stronger.”
Caitlin placed a hand against her chest and heaved an exaggerated sigh of relief before blushing and asking: “Will food be better? And the other thing too?”
Seth chuckled and nodded. “They will. You can try food back at the castle, but the other one will have to wait. It’s time to prepare everything and begin our seclusion.”
