Light Infantry and update

Happy New Year everybody!

I hope you're all well rested and well fed after the festivities over the last week or so!

the first 10 light infantry are done now - for now I've opted for single piece minis as opposed to the modular build but be assured that by the Kickstarter release in February you'll have all of these as modular minis as well as statics.

Halberd wielding variants will be coming next as well as some mounted on unarmoured Rokabos.

I had a few setbacks with the Drakes - my plans to outsource some sculpting didn't work out so I'm back to doing them myself.  The order of the Dragon will be the next set of minis released so keep your eyes peeled for updates on them.

I'm uploading these to MMF as we speak so they'll be sent out shortly.  Speaking of MMF, I sent out the October and November minis yesterday via MMF, so you should have had an email notification and the models should now be in your library - including supported versions.  Apologies that these have taken so long to get out to you all!

I know I've said it before but I've struggled catching up since lockdown started in March last year.  Its been a tough year with lots going on at home as well as all of the external factors that I have no influence over, and I'm sure you'll all have noticed that the competition on Patreon has increased dramatically over the last year.  The drop in patrons and subsequent income has meant I've had to do more commission work to keep afloat financially.

If anyone has any suggestions for ways I can improve my patronage and make the whole thing more appealing (other than the obvious issues around timely delivery and advance notice of figures for the coming months - I'm hoping to be getting back on top of this one!) then I'd love to hear them.  I really do appreciate every one of you that's stuck with me through the harder times!

Over the coming months I'll be sending out past months on MMF too so if you've been a patron since August 2019 you'll be getting a full suite of minis added to your MMF library.

A bit of an update on life in the Kelly household (for those of you interested)

We've had a lovely family Christmas without all of the usual travelling about for a week or more thanks to Coronavirus restrictions.  We're in the UK and the new Tier 4 restrictions have just recently been announced and as of today we are now in a tier 4 zone which means we're at maximum lockdown - although that really doesn't have any impact on us as a family as the kids still go to school and my wife is a teacher so essentially its just the same as any other day but with less shops and no restaurants or cafes etc.

We came last in our family google meet new year quiz, although I suspect some of the other teams we're using a bit of sneaky off camera google-fu! :-)  Still, it was a good bit  of fun when you can't physically see people in person.

The Office is furnished now but the relocation from the mancave in the house (soon to become a family room) to the new office is not quite complete.  I'll be moving the last few bits today and then getting the wife and kids to help with a bit of sorting and tidying to get it all looking on point and ready for use.

The schools are back on Tuesday to I'll be operating at full capacity again as of then!  I've had a lovely time with the family over the last 2 weeks but its been hard to do anything productive!  The little time I've had to do work has also been fraught with issues such as zbrush crashes, corrupted files and failed uploads!   I'm hoping to be in the new office on Tuesday and then I can work productively with everything having proper places and have a proper creative environment to keep the creative juices flowing!  I just need to get some more awesome art pieces for the walls to help surround myself in some great bits of inspiration!

Thanks all!  Happy new year, and happy printing!

Dan
