September video plans

Howdy all, back in june a couple posts mentioned vlog and video content to supplement my mini production.

Truth be told this summer's been rough, had to say goodbye to my party IRL, got my face smashed in earlier in the month and most recently have been dealing with black mould, among other things so not great lol.

But, I have been slowly ramping up to being able to produce the kind of stuff I'd like to, so without further adeu, heres what to expect in the coming month/month and a half.

Digital kitbashing with Golden Yak

A month ago I had the pleasure of meeting with golden yak(or battle yak miniatures), we talked a bit about his background into what got him into the mini making buisness while we kitbash a monster that would fit right in with his spooky spectres from his welcome box.

The digital kitbashing series will be done in a similar vein to the making monsters interview I did with Tyler Schubert of SPR earlier in the year.

The idea of this series is to bring on other artists, chat about hackground/experiences and design something really cool for the artist we bring on, be it something from a home game or a wishlist PC/monster/scatter model.

Barbeque on the Boat!!!

Time to elaborate on the face smashed in bit of the into of this post.

Tldr; hopped on one of those electric bird scooters, it was indeed raining, had to swerve to avoid a guy illegally parked in the middle of the sidewalk, scooter disagreed with stopping so I used my legs and stopped before the scooter and bashed my face at a 30 mph on the handlebars. Broken nose 2 black eyes. Look like a solid canadian kid now haha

As any good Dm knows a campaign is basically just random coincidence nudging adventurers along, and as a low level adventurer myself starved for xp, when o met a quest giver, obviously I said yes with no hesitation.

So long story short the cult of pickle is now interviewing Barbeque on the Boat on its 30th anniversary over the labour day long weekend.

After we get back monday and review of footage and editing starts, I'll be summing up our experiences into the Cult of pickles first Module! It will follow the events of absorb closely with each day presented as a chapter, and will feature 2 scenarios.

The A scenario will place the PC's as competitors in the event, and follow their journey from hunting, cleaning and cooking their quarries, as well the fierce competition present from the other 29 teams.

The B scenario will follow more closely my personal journey through the behind the scenes of an event. I mean c'mon... something runs for 30yrs with no intereuptions at the same place. Sounds like a ritual sealing some unspeakable terror to me.

Photogrammetry diaries

A simple vlog style thing that I can do here and there. The basic idea on this one is something along the lines of 'hey you dont need to know a 3d art program to engage with making 3d printable stuff.

I've broken this series roughly into 3 pillars

• Taking pictures of crap in the world perfect for photographer(or anyone with a phone camera really) the first video on this one will be [Urban scatyer] taking pictures of things around downtown, going over challenges of photogrammetry outdoors and good ways to get past this
• Taking pictures of meself perfect for cosplayers and people who like dressing up! The best part of this one is as a 3d printer only cares about external geometry, you can use tonnes of low budget cosplay techniques and itll look just as good as a proper high effort costume once scanned.
• Taking pictures of crap I make because who doesnt love black magic craft? I've made teoll skull tavern out of xps foam among other monstrosities, so this is great for hobbyists and terrain/monster crafters.

Divination 101

Originally I was planning on doing something called [Druidism 101] focussing on plants on my local biome, identification and uses. Also because I thought making a video about eating thistles would be funny. Were already getting cold snaps and just doing the one video and waiting until summer for the next is dumb.

This series will be exploring several real world analogues to divination spells and methods presented in ttrpgs(big focus on d&d 5e, and PF 2e), a brief history of such, and how it works or is thought to work and how it looks.
