September 2020 / Jailbreak!

List of miniatures

This set comes with 2 halfling guards, 1 halfling thief, 1 halfling hole front, and 1 man-beast.

Intro

We do little campaigns that have a shared theme and that run over the course of 3-4 months. And to those who know us, it won't come as a surprise, that we're getting things started with halflings. The little lads are, at least to me, and certainly thanks to Mr. T's groundbreaking story telling, the most lovable fantasy race out there!

And thieves, they need to be thieves, for thievery is what little folk with such nimble fingers is inherently good at!

And with this in mind our story starts...

Seppi Sixfingers, so called because of a 6th little finger on his right hand, that starts wiggling every time he lies, was travelling with his two shady companeros on the old trade road that leads through the West Hills. This region is known for it's many wealthy Halfling settlements, and Seppi intends to have a bit of that wealth for himself.

Seppi has woken up with a headache in a dark chamber with a decrepit bed frame, a bed pan and a solid round door.

The last thing he remembers? He and his thief buddies were about to extract themselves from the estate of a wealthy dignitary with a heavy sack full of silver! And this is where his memories end.

Our thief is connecting the dots, and it dawns on him that he's been savaged and thrown in a jail.

Seppi then utilizes one of the rusty nails that holds the bed frame together to pick the door lock, and just in the moment the lock clicks - in that uniquely satisfying 'skyrim' way - he hears a wild commotion and screams on the other side of the door.

In the next moment the door is being pushed open and a panicked guard stands in the door frame. The guard takes one step inside the cell but is suddenly pulled back by a violent force, loosing the crude glaive he held.

Seppi might be a thief with a hyper-moralic sixth finger, but he's no wuss. He doesn't hesitate in grabbing the bed pan, throwing it through the door, and immediately following it's trajectory with an earth-shattering war cry while grabbing the fallen guard's glaive.

The next thing he sees is the large outline of a beast drawn against the full moon. In front of it lies the bed pan. The monstrosity slowly turns it's head towards him, the fine fur still dripping with the bed pan's contents. It slowly opens it's fangs and takes a ducked stance.

Seppi lowers his glaive, and another guard joins the scene, helping up his injured comrade while they prepare to fight the monster.

Wyrm Forge

Not long ago you had a whole series of halfling models, what you would typically see in an army. Are any of these models still available?

Is it still possible to get a password for these models? Just joined today and love the halflings.

PM :--)

Wyrm Forge

I also missed the link somehow!

Please check your PMs

Wyrm Forge

Likewise, if you could send the link, I somehow missed Seppi (the thief with the bag), the werewolf, and the Hill. I did get the militia -- but I think it was because I got all the ones that were sent directly by email, and missed all the ones that required a log-in to patreon to follow the link to the Trove....

Andrew Aulenback

Thanks! Yeah, I thought to myself "oh, I've still got time, I'll get it later" and then I'll promptly forgot about it :P

Sven “DrMcCoy” Hesse

September is over my man! I am happy to send you the link as you were around in September already.

Wyrm Forge

Hey, did you remove the link or am I just blind?

Sven “DrMcCoy” Hesse

Yay!

Beholder.Madness

We got a druid for you in the works. Request well placed.

Wyrm Forge

There's a link and a password on top of the October post.

Wyrm Forge

Nevermind. Damn time difference screwed me, lol. Living in Hawaii is rough ;)

Bigbeer

cant find a link to these minis?

Bigbeer

A druid eh? Any leads of how that lad should be dressed?

Wyrm Forge

I'm not a fan of pre-supported models, they always have failures for me. That said, I did NOT have a failure printing yours. All files printed great, but I did break the right foot removing supports from Halfling Guard 3. I'm reprinting it now. I really love these models, halflings are so hard to find. Now I just need to find a halfling druid (hint, hint). I'll be posting pictures on Instagram when the printer is done.

Beholder.Madness

Sadly it's a bit small to figure out all the details! If you tag Westfalia Miniatures in IG or FB, then we will surely check it out!

Wyrm Forge

OK - I couldn't figure how to post a picture, so I turned the picture into my image. I hope that you can enlarge it and see!

Jusfirst finished printing the first batch, very happy as Seppi, the guards, the Pirate Captain and their "dog freind" turned out very nicely! Already printed and painted the hobbit-hole frontage!

Thanks -- I'll give it a go on my resin printer this weekend. Should fit slightly scaled down.

EW

For resin printing tilting about 45-60 degrees and just auto supporting worked fine on a Form 3 machine.(99% of supports are on the back side that has no features) assuming your printer has a big enough build area. Most of the consumer grade resin printers on the market until just recently with the oncoming wave of large build area resin printers, couldn't fit terrain pieces like this, which is why its not pre-supported. For FDM we tended to like to just lay the model flat on its back, which eliminated the need for supports which can be painful to clean up.

Wyrm Forge

Whats the best orientation to print the house at and do just auto supports work?

EW

We've recently made the 'Halfknecht' models available to order again as people kept asking about them. As for the 3D line - we will focus on adventure figurines, but groups of warriors AKA halfling militia, and possibly more regular halfling fighters are on the ever growing list!

Wyrm Forge

Gorgeous models! I remember seeing some of the old OOP "halfknecht" halflings with "puff'n'slash". Any chance you will be redoing some of those? https://www.westfaliaminiatures.com/out-off-produc

Cheers Deirdre!

Wyrm Forge

This is a gorgeous idea, thanks!
