Tomorrow is the day we…
Added 2022-11-11 04:07:58 +0000 UTCSo, for all of you that know me well, you should know that this is an important night for me. Tomorrow is the day we remember. Tonight, is usually the night I try to forget.
But I have chosen tonight to remember those who don't get the normal recognition of Military Service.
The unsung Logistic and Trades personnel. Movies aren't made about the Supply Tech who has to break into a Fallen Members locker to sort out their kit before returning it to their spouse. Or re-issue uniforms because they are bloodied and then have to burn the bloodied uniforms. For the record, blood stands out a lot more on Desert Uniforms than our Temperate Uniforms.
Or the Air Crews who have to transport the Remains back to home.
I have never seen an action flick about the Maintainers who have to go recover a blown up vehicle and move body parts out of the way to accomplish their task over and over again.
No movie ever made about a clerk who decided to hit the gym on her down time and be killed by a random rocket attack.
I have never seen a film about military cooks who stay up way past their bedtime to put on a good meal for the troops who just spent a very long day out recovering a blown up vehicle and their injured/fallen comrades.
In war, simple day to day normal tasks can become very morbid and that will weigh heavily on the minds of those who have had to do those tasks.
To sum up, anybody who as ever served, IS A VETERAN!!

I agree so much Mike, as "lifer" in the Army I cant share my combat stories with civilians. The bond we have with our combat buddies is undeniable. Im always here if you need a friendly ear.

2022-11-14 20:07:14 +0000 UTCI always take time in my day to thank a soldier, and honor theor sacrifice. They chose to honor us by their sacrifice and they didn't have to. I have 3 children who served, 2 of whom fought in Afghanistan .. Soldiers may not have signed up for accolades or honors, yet they deserve all the respect and support we as civilians can give 🥰🥰🥰

2022-11-13 23:46:10 +0000 UTCI won’t speak for all Veterans but the majority are not going to open up to civilians or those who never experienced the military or war. We have a shared identity and we understand each other so if I was to open up to anyone it would be another vet preferably one who has been in combat and have shared the same experiences. Civilians don’t understand nor will they ever unless they have experienced the military. Military members share a bond that no civilian will ever understand.

2022-11-12 00:03:21 +0000 UTCThank you for sharing your feelings and experiences. Knowledge allows us the ability to better serve those who served us. I hope that any and all veterans feel comfortable in sharing their experiences and whatever else may be therapeutic to them ❤️🤍💙

2022-11-11 12:11:41 +0000 UTCThis is highly offensive and triggering. No one enlisted for recognition, medals or back pats. There are unspoken pieces that can never be reclaimed no matter how much you try. I'm sure my comment was accidentally deleted, so I reposted it again.
