Possible Away-at-Legal-War Notice
Added 2016-03-05 23:57:00 +0000 UTCThis may or may not happen but on the offchance fecal matter does hit the propellers, you as backers should get an idea of what's going here.
Come June, it'd be a year since I left Inspidea.
As a preproduction designer, my job included development which I did with great gusto, and in hindsight extremely blind towards their obvious bias. It'd be no exaggeration to say I pitched literally a hundred or more ideas, from proper pitch packs to little quibbles. Everything my boss noted down obsessively in his notebooks, so he knows what I know.
Here's where the possible courtroom fisticuffs is gonna happen: I plan to rescue what I can from them. Ideas that, as someone who spent 3 years there, am very confident they'll never realise because:
1.) they're not good enough
2.) too hung up on pandering to kids
3.) Even if they did realise the ideas, they'd be heavily sanitized for 5 year olds and nothing like my original grimdark.
I have studied up on my copyrights and even asked Ryan P Morrison, VG Attorney, for his second opinion (as some ideas can be gamified).
What I can rescue are premises and concepts without designs, mere descriptions with replaceable titles. I remember which, I even have my own notebook recordings. Ideas that I saw fit to voice out because I believe in their potential for awesomeness.
I know the company well enough, if they've got nothing out in a year, odds are very high that they've forgotten about it or have taken off in some completely unrelated tangent.
However, like I said, bossman knows of these too and he's a self-professed obsessive hoarder of all things, even ideas. When he finds a familiar idea by a former employee, or is snitched to, he may sue me for some vague resemblance of infringement.
They have money, attorneys, backing from boardrooms full of stuffed suits. They can crush me like sparrow egg between Zangief's thighs, but I believe as an artist some things are worth liberating.
Even at a personal cost.
So in June, I plan on posting up these liberated ideas as artwork and animated clips and then wait to see if they want to do David VS Goliath.

There is one possible safe route but it would involve everyone here and, eh... doesn't seem right to drag you all into the hot water too.
It's basicly co-development, a concept / idea that more people contribute to, to the point if they wanna haul me, they gotta haul in everyone else involved.
