Dev Diary #113

Hello, good morning, おはよう!

Yes, I know, it's been a long time since I've written a diary in the morning, I don't even work in the mornings anymore unless it's necessary, like today.

This will be a short post as it's more to inform you about some small changes that Patreon has made recently.

As you know (or maybe you don't), Patreon was going to change the way it charges every month. Until now, you were charged on the 1st of each month, but due to IOS's changes, the subscription method has changed: From now on, NEW patrons (or resubscriptions) will be charged on the same day they subscribed. So if you join on the 5th, you will be charged on that day, and on the 5th of the following month, you will be charged, not on the 1st. Again, this only affects new patrons or resubscriptions.

They have also made a small change when you pause payments, so that's why I'm writing this diary now and not in a few days when I have interesting stuff to tell or show...

After the change in the subscription mode, they have also decided to automatically resume the payments that I had paused... I had this month's payment paused and everything was not back to normal until December. Well, Patreon has decided that nope, it's back to normal now, without even notifying me of this change...

So if by any chance anyone has been charged as if it was a normal month, please send me a dm here, and I'll make a refund, because I won't be back to normal until December.

That said, and since I mentioned December: Unless something weird happens, we will be back to normal from the ~2nd of December. I am not 100% recovered but both the doctor and the physio have already told me that this is a long journey and I must be patient, because on one hand, I have to heal my stomach from the mess that the virus + antibiotics did, and on the other hand, I have the cervical sht, both things being something that takes quite a long time to recover completely. Even so... I keep making changes in my lifestyle, so I'm gradually improving. For example, tomorrow will be my second week at the gym. Hopefully, by December my stomach will have improved too as I've had a small rebound and it sucks, I don't want to spend Christmas eating just rice and vegetables, honestly.

That said (x2), unfortunately, I don't have anything interesting to show right now. I can say that everything is finally taking shape and everything is almost ready for the first version of LA:Memories. There's still the "heavy" work to do, which is the renders with that Koi+HS2 mix. Even so, yesterday I finally finished the first mini-game (Quizzes) and I'm happy with the final result although there are some details to be polished. I don't know why I came up with the idea that I wanted you to be able to do the quizzes as many times as you want and always have a reward, so I decided that at least the answers had to be random, and my god... it's crazy to work with RNG stuff even if they are simple, because it always ends up being something that gives more work than you would like. At the same time I've been working on this, I've been thinking about what I have pending to do plus what I'm going to do next, so everything is going smoothly at a pace that although I'd like it to be faster, it's not a bad pace.

My goal is still to finish the first version at the end of the month or the latest at the beginning of next month because I would like to start working on the next version of LA, which as I said, was going to be really short, but I want to release the content that has been gathering dust since March...

So as I said, unless you want to see a lot of coding, nothing is interesting. Oh, well, maybe, even though it's not finished yet (those little details still need to be finished):

It comes with a dark version:

And with this, I say goodbye for today! See you soon!

Keisi

I see, I speak Spanish and for a moment I thought I would have a translation or something, thanks for your effort and your great work

Dan

Yeah. Any project is always written first in Spanish and translated into English before each release. Whenever I show something, I always try to have everything already translated, but this time, it was to show interface stuff, so the language was not important.

Keisi

Will there be a language in Spanish?
