Just Plain Sad
Added 2015-08-31 23:13:19 +0000 UTCHey Team Ty,
I wanted to bring something to your attention guys that is very sad for me to have to say. There's a website out there that is taking artwork from my Patreon and other's Patreon pages and posting it up for free download. That site is Yiff.party and i have to say it always makes me sad to see people who disrespect artists so very much they like to do this to them.
I wrote an e-mail letting them know I want my work taken down and they have posted my contact information publicly and now I am being attacked by a bombardment of e-mails, thousands and thousands of them. Clearly they really must think very low of me to be this outright disrespectful but they must like my art enough to want to steal and share it. Funny how that works.
What makes me even sadder is, this must be one of my patrons claiming to support me, as no one who isn't pledging is able to get the images in my feed. I am considering putting watermarks over the images that end up in my feed and you guys will get the un-watermarked versions in your reward bundles.
To those of you who love my artwork and are supporting me so I can continue to create it, Thank you from the bottom of my Heart. You all mean the world to me. I'm not about to let some petty individuals with some bone to pick against creativity ruin what we may make together.
~Ty

Hmm. I wonder, is it perhaps possible that *their* contact info might... accidentally... find its way out into the wild? I know people with broad, broad counter-trolling networks....

First, it isn't an actual patron person, you can't see them in your list, it's just someone running some kind of script that scrapes the feed, since the feed is accessible without payment, by subscribing. Only if you stay pledged until payments go through does it actually charge, so, somehow or another, they have a script that gets past it automatically, or just updates from the feed directly, I have no idea, I'm not a software engineer or coder of any kind. But there's quite literally nothing that can be done, people have reported it to Patreon, and to their apparent webhost. So it's really just best to honestly ignore it entirely, or do cropped/watermarked stuff if you want to go that route. My feed is always stuff that'll be public anyway, so I just don't think about it and go about my day; all the real rewards are sent out in PMs at the end of the month anyway. So don't let their shitty behaviour get you down! If you put out the great stuff you've been doing, I don't see why it won't continue to grow.

People like this aren't worth your time. They wouldn't have been paying customers anyway, so don't stress over it. Maybe one day karma will bite them in the ass.
