Highly requested songs (and my thoughts on them)

Hopefully we can keep this ball rolling and I can make this a part time job (and eventually full time), meaning more songs! There's still a ways to go but the progress so far has been promising. :)
Believe it or not, I actually do read 99% of the comments on Youtube. I pay a lot of attention to the requests everyone makes. Today we're going to look at some highly requested songs and franchises and my thoughts on them. I'd also like to hear your thoughts on them too!
1. Unfounded Revenge (Mother 3) - I don't know if something Earthbound related has happened recently, but for whatever reason like 10+ people requested this in the comments of Mewtwo Battle. I've also had a lot of requests for Natural Killer Cyborg which is pretty awesome. I'm lacking in the Earthbound department (only having done Pokey Means Business) so I'll probably end up doing one of these really soon. Maybe even mix the 2 together?
2. X vs. Zero (Mega Man X5) - A lot of requests for this song lately. Enough to say that I'll be doing this song very soon. You can never have enough Mega Man!
3. Splatoon - When it comes to actually playing games, I really only have time to play one or two at a time. For the past couple of months I've been playing a lot of Splatoon, I've been getting a ton of requests to do a song from this game and as much as I like it, I definitely will be.
4. One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy VII) - Whilst I do love this song, I've been kind of staying away with it for a couple of reasons. One, because it's one of those really obvious songs that a lot of people have done, and two, because the Advent Children (Black Mages?) version is REALLY good. It's been getting a lot of requests lately, so I'll be keeping my eye on it.
5. Shovel Knight - I'm about due to make a cover for this, it's been requested for a long time. I haven't seen any specific song in particular, but Strike the Earth! seems to be the most popular, so it'd likely end up being that one.
6. Xenoblade Chronicles - The XC requests probably aren't going to stop, but I just recently did one so It'll be a while till I do another one. The question is: Engage the Enemy, Gaur Plains, or Zanza?
7. Kirby - With Masked Dedede being the most popular GaMetal song by a landslide (more than twice the views of the 2nd most popular song, Dark Star Core), a lot of my fan base is now comprised of Kirby fans, meaning I get a ton of Kirby requests, but that's ok because I also love Kirby music! This too has been a mixed bag with the highest requested being Marx's Theme, C-R-O-W-N-E-D, and Dirty and Beauty. It'll be a few songs later till I do another Kirby song, I just did Dark Meta Knight like 4 songs ago.
8. Bravely Default - I had no idea this game was so popular. Song requests have also been kind of mixed with This Person's Name Is having the most, and it almost won the Patreon Poll, so we're going to get to this next month.
9. Touhou - Another franchise popular for song requests, again mixed in terms of a specific song. UN Owen Is Her is a bit overdone, so the current lean is towards Nuclear Fusion.
10. Fire Emblem - Together We Ride and ID (Purpose) are the 2 most requested. Personally I prefer Together We Ride, so I'm probably going to do that one soon.
11. Zelda - I actually haven't done a Zelda song in a while. I've been meaning to do Molgera Battle for a while, so maybe we'll get to that one soon.
12. Smash Bros - If I'm not playing Splatoon, I'm playing SSB4. I do plan on doing a medley of the main themes from the SSB series this year. It's just a matter of getting to it. xD
13. Lightning Battle (Kid Icarus: Uprising) - Insane song. I'm a huge KI:U fan, I've been deciding between this song and the Boss Battle theme from the same game to do for the next KI song.
14. Adventure's End (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team) - As I mentioned earlier, Dark Star Core is the 2nd most popular GaMetal song, so I see a lot of requests for songs from the Mario RPG's. I see this one the most, it's a pretty cool song. Someday.
15. Sonic - Another series with several different songs requested (there's a lot to choose from), I'm not sure which Sonic song I'll do next but it's one of my favorites to do so it'll definitely show up soon.

I didn't expected that like 75% of these songs are in my fav list. Also, Touhou. Touhou touhou touhou. My favorite game of all time with these freaking awesome soundtracks. Here's good choices of songs for these series, but with the release of Double Dealing Character (ESPECIALLY this one), Impossible Spellcard and Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, here some neat songs that make a big up on the touhou comunity. And one of these songs, in my opinion, became the most epic touhou song ever made. I'm speaking about Kobito of the Shining Needle ~ Little Princess, Shinmyoumaru Sukuna's theme who's the final boss of the game and is really A-MA-ZING!! Here's also Dullahan Under the Willows, Sekibanki's theme, the second boss of the game, and Primordial Beat ~ Pristine Beat, Raiko Horikawa's theme, who's the Extra Boss. I sadly have nothing for Impossible Spellcard that I found really interesting but here's two song in the last released Touhou game , Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, that made me dream and nightmare. The first one is Pure Furies ~ Whereabouts of the Heart, Junko's theme, who's the final boss of the game and for finally, my last request about a touhou song. A theme that gave me chills. Pandemic Planet, Hecatia Lapislazuli's Theme, who's the Extra boss of the game. These songs are just epic. So that's all for my suggestions of song ^^

Where you're deciding between multiples from the same game/series, I would vote for Natural Killer Cyborg, Zanza, Dirty and Beauty, Nuclear Fusion, Together We Ride, and Lightning Battle. Besides that, X vs. Zero, Strike the Earth!, Marx's Theme, ID (Purpose), Kid Icarus: Uprising Boss Battle theme, and Adventure's End would all also be very high on my wish list!

If you do end up doing a remix of it.... please don't do strike the earth, already tone of people remixed it quite well, while song like flower of antimony, A Thousand Leagues Below or Fighting with all of our might don't get enough love! But hey that just my opinion, any song is welcome!

This has been remixed by others before but i just know that Atma can do it so much better ^^

As for specific thoughts, here's my take on some of the songs: 2.) X vs Zero is fantastic, and I've heard some great remixes of it. It'd certainly go well with your style, and would be a fun song to hear. 3.) I personally enjoy splatoon a lot, but I have to confess I don't pay too much attention to the music; it tends to just be in the background for me, so I have no clue how a gametalized version would be. 4.) I completely agree on One Winged Angel; it's a great song, but it's been done to death, and I feel like there are other projects that would benefit more from your time. 7.) Kirby has some great music in it, particularly both of the songs you mentioned (and I recall Dirty and Beauty was one of the Patron reward songs chosen). It'll definitely be good to hear that. 11.) Molgera is a fantastic choice! I loved that song when I first heard it, and it's actually one that I think lacks in the remix department (the brawl one was decent, but somehow I still felt it was lacking compared to the original.) 12.) A smash bros. medley of the 4 main themes would be incredible; each theme was fantastic, and its one of the few series where I really can't pick a favorite. 15.) Sonic is always a great choice; perhaps another medley, this time focusing only on the genesis era games? The last medley was great, but tended to focus on the 3d era stuff, and the classic 2d games have some incredible songs that could be showcased. In any case, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Praise the sun(crow)!! \[+]/ On a related note, I haven't heard too many good metal covers of Hellfire Mantle, the theme that plays in the stage before Nuclear Fusion's boss battle. It'd be cool to hear your take on it, if you're interested. If you want more ideas from those games, I could definitely suggest more in the future, so do let us know what you think of the series and its music!

The tough thing about medleys is they take a lot longer to make because of length, arranging, learning several different songs opposed to one, etc. The good thing about them is they tend to be more popular and I can hit on multiple songs people want to hear rather than just one.

2015-09-16 17:33:06 +0000 UTCI'm sure the chances are pretty slim, as it doesn't seem that there are any Perfect Dark players in your fan base, but I'd LOVE to hear your take on the end credits theme to Perfect Dark. Also, my vote for Shovel Knight goes to "High Above the Land."

I know you've already done Dragon Roost Island, but the Great Sea and Outset Island themes would be awesome to hear too. Shovel Knight is always great! Its hard to pick out just one song from there. Strike the Earth is an amazing song, but one thing to keep in mind is that there's already a lot of good covers of it out there. "High Above the Land","In the Halls of the Usurper," "The Defender," and "The Fateful Return" are all great choices worth considering too. The game just has so many outstanding tracks. If you're gonna do more Xenoblade, my vote's definitely on "Engage the Enemy." I'd also love to hear a cover of a song from the Shantae series sometime. Maybe "Trip through Sequin Land," "We Love Burning Town," or "Boss Battle?"
