How I put together Medleys (GaMetal Development #3: The Return!)

I've been wanting to bring back the old GaMetal Development posts that I made in the early days of the GaMetal Patreon. I was about to put together the song order for the Game Boy Medley, when I realized this would be a great chance to go in-depth with my song ordering process for medleys, which is a topic I get asked about often.
In the first half of this video, I discuss how I go about coming up with the song order for a GaMetal medley, using NES Medley VI as an example. In the second half (19:41) of the video, I go through the entire process, starting from scratch, of determining a rough first draft of the Game Boy Medley song order.

There's a way to do this in Logic but I found it to be a bit... cumbersome. I just use this site since I can just go straight to it and get what I need.

Easy version: Start off with a few upbeat/intense tunes, then have a slower piece or two, rinse and repeat. Changing up the feeling of the song list after a certain feeling gets too 'overdone'. :)

I started watching to see if it would provide any insight into, like, putting together playlists (which is the closest I can come to composing, at least right now), but it was less the specific “here’s how we make the music sound good” and more the general “I need to optimize putting these pieces together” that kept my interest the whole time. (Not to discount the musical part. That was cool too!)
