Update Post! April 11th (Reveals!)

Hey Patrons!

After the final Side-Quests Volume 2 video, Super Metroid Ending, releases tomorrow, we will finally be complete with all SQ2 videos! This will be the 6th video this month, so I'd like to remind everyone again to check and adjust your monthly pledge limits if needed. Only pledge for an amount you want to and are comfortable with!

I will have physical copies of SQ2 made at the beginning of May. As advertised, anyone who has pledged in either March or April of this year will have their name (Patreon username) in the credits of the album booklet, like we did for Dreamland Invasion and SQ1.

On a near-final word concerning Side-Quests 2, I want to thank you all once again for all of the support you've given myself and GaMetal community over the years to make it to this point. I'm really proud of how every song on SQ2 turned out, especially considering I was only familiar with 3 or 4 of them. Without you all, it would've been much harder for me to discover and appreciate all these awesome unfamiliar tracks. So thank you so much!

I had mentioned, I believe in the Crimson Dragon video post, that I would reveal my handpick choice before the release of the Primordial Beat video. I got done with that a bit sooner than I anticipated, so to make up for lack of reveal yesterday, I'm gonna reveal two songs to go on the to-do list: my April handpick, and the first May Madness confirmation!

First up, my handpicked choice for April:

A song that I've always wanted to cover, Force Your Way from Final Fantasy VIII, which appears on the list of Daniel Frenzel!

I will say there will be something special about this remix, but I'll keep that under wraps until I get around to it (which, with all we have coming up, might be a little bit, but it'll be worth it!).

And the first confirmed remake for May Madness will be...

The Ultimate Show from Super Paper Mario! I first remade this track back in 2014, and while it's actually one of the most viewed GaMetal songs on YT (at #11), it could really use a sound upgrade. This was the most voted for song from you all from our May Madness Discussion post that I made at the beginning of the month.

By the way, if you haven't dropped your votes on that post yet, you still have time! As a side note, I'll only be counting new votes at this point, as it gets a bit hard to keep up with edits now that we're almost 50 comments into the process. I'll still allow edits if you make a mistake though, such as voting for a song that has already been remade or anything like that.

I'll confirm some more May songs throughout the rest of the month, so stay tuned for updates!

I haven't officially decided on what song will be next after Super Metroid Ending, but it will definitely come from the to-do list. I might go with something a little easier like Heavy Lobster to quench the thirst of the song-hungry Kirby fans for a bit till we get around to Void Termina, which won't be coming till much later since it was just recently drawn and because it's super complex. Whatever I decide on will be in the end card teaser tomorrow.

I hope to squeeze in at least another 3 songs this month, including the super top secret 2nd April Fools special, as well as mixing up some to-do list songs in May Madness. So while our to-do list does look a bit stacked again, I'm hoping to have it all cleared out by the end of June.
