We just recorded this episode a week ago and got to enjoy it in this newly-brisk breeze in Austin. This is a pretty fun FPE. Bryce and I had lavs on for the surgery portion of the video, for those of you who wanted to better hear our half of the conversations. This seemed especially vital for the extra communication that needs to happen for the narrative-driven moments.

This also includes the more in-depth making of blood bags and setup process, which we mostly relegated to b-roll in the episode. So if you thought that was too abridged in the ep, you'll get your fill here, as it's about 20 minutes of footage.

If you're in any way familiar with Brian and Jason, it'll probably come as no surprise to you that effectively that entire cinematic was improvised, but seeing it all laid bare in the FPE reminds me of just how little wiggle room many of those moments had before the whole thing would have fallen apart. That said, Brian's been doing the psychic surgery thing for years (to the chagrin of a couple viewers) so there's some can't-fail confidence to the performance and explanation. A rare advantage for us, certainly.
