What Do We Film?

Look at these talented and surly bad-asses. I don't remember what prompted these looks of discontent. Brian and I were probably watching a YouTube video or talking about a video game from 1983. They spend a lot of time waiting on us to get it together.

What you see here is part of our team here at Modern Rogue, just waiting to be told what episodes we're going to shoot.  While I have a huge backlog of ideas in the MR database, I want to hear it from you.

What episodes do YOU want to see?

Hot yeah,

Jason

What Do We Film?

I really like some of the videos that take chemicals and show what they do. It's not always the most exciting but as a visual learner it helps to see the reaction I learned about in school

That's one that we almost filmed a few months ago, but I needed to do some more research, so we shelved it for a bit.

An episode on how to conduct an OSINT investigation would be really cool.

Ooh. That last one gives me some good ideas. We should do a 'survival food' episode - rations, crickets, roots and grubs, etc.

I have some suggestions... - Hide in your own home to evade police capture - How to deal with online assholes on both Social Media and Video Games - Jason, just feed Brian random shit and tell him it's to test healthy eating or alternative food

Austin Eisenring

Those are all on the list! And quite high up, actually. :)

I'd love to have him on!

All great suggestions. I've been meaning to schedule something with Aces again.

Hmmm. Interesting idea!

I'll hit up Anthony!

They all deserve medals.

Hi Jason, these are probably old news: - How about making a boomerang (or just learning to throw one) . - Tracking a person in the woods. - Navigating by the stars

Between Desperate Defense week and now Ghillie suits, it'd be amazing if you could bring in Terry Schappert as a guest. I've heard many times that he is a super nice guy but also a complete badass - a true modern rogue.

I’d love to see you guys “build” improvised weapons. And more with the jiu jitsu people, and the HEMA people.

Jake Kelly

Been trying to line that one up for a while now. Hopefully in the fall?

That one's actually on the list!

That's something we've talked about in the past and *definitely* skill sets both of us could use.

Also you are in Austin there has to be some one around that can teach you how to BBQ.

How to pick the right safety gear or how not to cut your hand. As a bonafide safety professional I will even lend you my expert advice.

Justin Newnum

How to cut down a tree... axe, chaisaw.. I figure the World Headquarters might need some land clearing.

An episode that states how to dive into a few hobbies. You have an easel set up, some scuba gear, a blacksmith hammer, and a couple other hobbies laid out on the table. A couple minutes are devoted to each on what are the key supplies to get started, national groups or organizations, basic starter info. You guys have done in depth for individual things many times over, so a wide but shallow look at starting multiple would be a fairly easy episode and a nice change of pace. A dip your toe into these hobbies kind of episode.

Very good point! I've got 'schedule episodes with Trever' on my 'to-do' list.

Setting a table for a formal dinner party. The difference between black tie, white tie, and business suit. More Trever! (I’d love to see an episode on “punishment shots” but I want y’all to speak to me, so no.) I think the show has been leaning hard Warrior lately and I’d like to see the other pillars getting some love.

Andrew Hackard

How to not cut yourself (I sent those gloves for a reason).

Basic home/auto repairs

Jerry Heiselman

How a gentleman courts a lady.

Love it! All great suggestions!

How to tie a cravat! How to fix your own clothes!

mysteriousAnallid

Fight with Sabres! Shoot parlor rifles/do trick shots!

mysteriousAnallid

"Is this what our tax dollars are going to... Buncha slackers."

Hot yeah!

And on the spirit of HEMA stuff- Talk to Anthony and see if he knows anyone who’ll come down to teach y’all Military Saber or Scottish Broadsword. Way more fun than rapier IMHO-

You're so helpful, Preston! XD

(Jason- Just go ahead and apologize to Brandt and Bryce on my behalf for all the shrieking and cursing they’ll have to deal with on set and in post)

Interesting! We're obviously gamers and gaming probably plays a hand in the show's future to some degree. Framing it as an experiment in fear response is a cool take that could very well fit in with the show.

I don't know, y'all are the ones making a career out of this

Preston Bowers

You guys need to set up a VR rig in the warehouse- and play a bunch of horrifying VR games. It would be very entertaining to see you and Brain sweat- Plus, gaming videos are fun. Maybe determining which game horrifies you the most by tracking pulse/bp? I’d watch the shit out of that... (Especially if you Jumpscare Brian a bunch while he’s in VR world)
