This FPE has a runtime of 1:13:58, only 34.7% of our footage was used in the episode.
You've likely heard me say it before, and you'll hear me say it again: martial arts videos are hard to record. For this one we strongly prioritized two cameras, but put Bryce on a detail shot in the center to roam for additional coverage. Wide angles and moving around a bit seems to be a strong direction for camera placement -- only problem with that here is how small the room is. It ended up working fairly well, all told.
Audio, however, was another story. We had tons of static interference, mics totally dropping out, and so on. Now look, lav mics are objectively a bad microphone choice for these kinds of videos, you have a lot of rubbing against fabrics and impacts on the mics; you have people landing on transmitter packs; you have wires snagging; you have mics coming loose and falling. But, it's what we have, so we try to make it work. In this case, it made a lot of extra work, but the comments weren't flooded with complaints, so I suppose we pulled it off.
(I dropped much of the audio static in the FPE by some 10dB just to make it not painfully loud, but it might still be jarring at times.)
In this FPE you'll get to see all of the practicing, some of the resting/water breaks, some audio troubleshooting, and some 1v1 sparring between Anthony and Kyle that I couldn't really find a spot to fit into the video.
*edit: also this FPE has a grey area injury reset towards the end that got cut for both time, and because I didn't want to have to deal with establishing the exact boundary at which resets happen. Scandalous!
