January 2020 Recap

It's been an uncharacteristically hot January around here, and much else of the world, and all of this fuego content isn't helping matters. What went down over the past month?

[ PUBLIC ]

We posted 8 new Modern Rogue videos at a total runtime of 2h 25m 58s! We kicked off the year with a retrospective on all of our videos from the past year, it's a good watch if you're feeling nostalgic. We also had a couple continuations of collaborations with other creators, Cocktail Chemistry and Deviant and Babak. We wrapped up the month with our 2 part series on pool, which was a fun time.

Quick update on captions: we have a lot more of them now! English captions, at least, we're up to 68% of the channel being covered. It's pretty consistent until about July 2018 where our coverage gets spotty, and we'll be working on filling up that back catalog. Unfortunately it remains true that I don't really have the time or energy to touch every single one of them to make sure they're impeccable, but I do some basic adjustments to them all. If you ever spot something that's been inaccurately transcribed, please feel free to let me know or leave a comment; it's an easy thing for me to fix, and it helps everybody out!

We sent out Q4 shirt surveys to all the pertinent patrons at the start of January, then a reminder post a couple weeks ago. I've recently given the go-ahead to start production on these shirts, so hopefully that whole machine churns up soon.

[ HQ UPDATE ]

This might be a little pedestrian, but HQ is still getting pieced together bit by bit. Lately it's been some quality of life adjustments and the occasional decorations. Fixture in bathrooms, door stops, welcome mats outside, that kind of thing. We got our gear organized a little bit. Now that I'm working out of here on the daily, I can get a little persnickety about labeling and putting things in their place. We have some plaques up and our play buttons have a home.

[ COMING UP ]

We're sitting on a few outdoors videos that'll be coming out soon, and a couple more with Dev and Babak (including the video we teased in the 2019 retrospective). I don't really know what we have planned as far as upcoming shoots, but we'll need to start ramping that up after the holiday lull. Oh! I'm about a third of the way done with our code reveal video (from the hidden code a little over a year ago now), so maybe I'll make some meaningful progress on that this month, time providing.
