Only recently have I realized most women I had anything to do with considered themselves superior to me. Even in their language they made it quite clear I was honored and lucky to have the privilege spending money on them.

But nowadays it is often just a "get to know you". And it´s not unlikely that she is meeting 5 other guys in the same week and maybe even sleeping with one or sevreral other guys already. I am simply not willing to invest money until I am reasonable sure that she is a serious person.

For me that was always the primary explanation why I hestitate to pay nowadays: A few decades ago, a young woman was really limited in her finanicial freedom and prospect. Under such circumstances it made sense that the man paid. This is simply no longer the case. Particularly for young, single people, there is virtually no pay gap anymore.
