Remote Wedding Journalist wanted | up to $75 per hour

The Freelance Wedding Journalist is responsible for crafting compelling, narrative-driven coverage of weddings, events, and brand stories for The Wedding Architects Editorial. This role captures the emotional essence, creative design, and cultural significance of each celebration through elevated written storytelling.

The journalist will collaborate closely with planners, photographers, and videographers to document each wedding with accuracy, sensitivity, and style, transforming real events into beautifully written features for digital publication, print, and media distribution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend select weddings and editorial shoots (virtually or on-site) to observe details and gather interviews from couples, planners, and vendors.

• Write original, refined articles that reflect The Wedding Architects’ luxury and artistic tone.

• Produce both short-form and long-form editorial pieces, such as:

• Wedding recaps

• Designer or vendor spotlights

• Behind-the-scenes features

• Styled shoot narratives

• Collaborate with the creative team to align writing style with photography and visual storytelling.

• Edit and proofread submissions for brand consistency and tone.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling client stories and imagery.

• Submit deliverables on deadline and in the correct formatting for digital and print use.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Background in journalism, creative writing, communications, or luxury lifestyle publishing.

• Strong understanding of editorial storytelling, tone, and structure.

• Excellent written English and grammar; adaptable to The Wedding Architects’ brand voice.

• Comfortable conducting interviews with couples, designers, and planners.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism in high-touch environments.

• Familiarity with weddings, events, or the luxury lifestyle sector preferred.

COMPENSATION & TERMS

• Freelance / Contract-based, per-article or per-project pay.

• Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure and rights agreement (all content remains property of The Wedding Architects).

• Remote-first position, with optional travel opportunities for high-profile coverage.
