How to install the Foundry Modules & the .dd2vtt files

How to install my Foundry Modules

IMPORTANT: Foundry Modules Master List

0. If you installed my foundry modules by using a manifest URL (before 8th of February 2022), first uninstall my modules #01 to #24 before stepping further

1. Log in on the Foundry VTT website: https://foundryvtt.com/

2. Edit your profile here: https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit

3. Link your Patreon account at the bottom of the page if you haven't already.

4. Verify Cthulhu Architect shows up under https://foundryvtt.com/me/subscriptions. If Cthulhu Architect does not appear as expected under your "Subscribed Content" page of your user profile, you may need to Refresh your Patreon link.

5. In your FoundryVTT you should be able to view and install all my modules from the Premium Content section

6. Enable the module in your world

7. You should be able to see some new compendiums in the Compendium Packs tab.

8. Open the desired compendium and right-click on any map and then import it. It will be available in the Scenes tab

On The Forge

You should link your Patreon account with The Forge

You will then be able to view all my modules in Bazaar by searching "Cthulhu Architect"

How to use the .dd2vtt files

On Roll20

You can use the dd2vtt files to generate all the metadata needed to create the walls in Roll20. You need a premium Roll20 account to be able to view dynamic lights.

Follow the instructions here to add the walls into Roll20.

BONUS: If you want to extract the unwatermarked image from the .dd2vtt files you can use the instructions here

On Fantasy Grounds

The current version of Fantasy Grounds supports importing dd2vtt files. Check this following video to see how - https://youtu.be/VoXe-sc2Uws?t=2553

On FoundryVTT

You need to install the Universal Battlemap Importer and then just enable the module in your world and then you will see a "Universal Battlemap Importer" button in your scenes. You need to select the dd2vtt file and the scene will be imported with walls and lights.

I recommend deleting all the lights and manually creating the lights as it suits you. The dd2vtt files are an export by Dungeondraft that handles lights in a different manner.

kewl beans! i thought as much with how much Pulp-era materials that you've done!! :)

Hello! I will surely add those ideas to my backlog. Especially the u-boat may be pretty interesting! Thanks!

Panagiotis I

Howdy, have you thought about trying your hand at working up a couple of WW2 Submarines (a US and/or a U-Boat)?

Richard A Spake

Hello! The foundry modules are available on Great Cthulhu (3 EUR) and Nyarlathotep (5 EUR) tiers. On Yog-Sothoth Tier (2 EUR) you get access to all the PNG/WEBP/DD2VTT files.

Panagiotis I

It says on my foundry that the subscription offers no content at this time. Will this change on it's own or is there something I need to do?

Craeb

thank u man. U r the best, really. Waiting for a new maps and ads.

Hey there and thanks for your support! The foundry module includes all the maps. If you just want the PNG files, there isn't a single archive to download them all but you can at least download all of them through this page more easily - https://www.patreon.com/posts/yog-sothoth-tier-53314661

Panagiotis I

is it possible to download all PNG's (I mean all maps) on an archive or smth? And thank u for ur job man! It looks fantastic!

I just updated the post with instructions on how to install my modules using The Forge Bazaar. You can find the links in the updated post above. Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you enjoy the content!

Panagiotis I

Hello again! I created an account on The Forge and I can immediately see the confusion. Some of my now deleted modules (Cthulhu Architect Map #01 - #24) are still available in the Marketplace although they shouldn't. I contacted the support of The Forge and asked them to remove them. If you link your patreon account with The Forge you should still be able to download my main module "Cthulhu Architect Maps - Nyarlathotep Tier". I will try to post an update today on this post with a guide on how to install my modules from the forge.

Panagiotis I

One more suggestion. Have you tried searching for my premium modules on Bazaar within forge? That's where you should be able to see the "Cthulhu Architect - Nyarlathotep Tier" module that includes all the maps.

Panagiotis I

Hello, my modules are made using V10 and I have plans to migrate to v11 soon, but as far as I know they should support v11 too. Can you give me more info on the error you are getting? Which module did you try to install? I posted a question on my discord to get some feedback from other users that use forge and I'll let you know when I get an answer.

Panagiotis I

The Forge file is not compatible for version 11 of Foundry, is there an idea when that would be updated??

Stan P

That's good to know! Thanks for the info, I'll update this guide.

Panagiotis I

the most recent fantasy grounds update added direct importing of dd2vtt files, FYI :-) https://youtu.be/VoXe-sc2Uws?t=2553

Hello, if you are trying to get the Vehicles Vol.1 & Boats modules, I want to let you know that I updated those posts and added the png file downloads. This way you can use those tokens in a different VTT. About how to use the FoundryVTT modules (maps) on fantasy grounds, that's not possible, but you can import the dd2vtt files I provide on each map post. There is a tool that converts the dd2vtt files into the required data for Fantasygrounds to open the map with walls etc. The link for this tool is here - https://github.com/Imagix/uvtt2fgu - but you need to have python3 installed

Panagiotis I

I use Fantasy Grounds,, any advice on if/how I can use these modules?

John Quick

Hi there, is everything working for you after the FoundryVTT update?

Panagiotis I

Hello, If you are using the electron (local installation) FoundryVTT v0.8.9 and you are having problems downloading the Foundry Modules that I publish, please try the following to solve the problem. 1. Download again FoundryVTT v0.8.9 from official website (although same version, it includes a hotfix from FoundryVTT team) 2. Re-install FoundryVTT (no data will be lost) 3. The modules should now download/update just fine. The problem had to do with the way electron applications (such us FoundryVTT) deal with SSL. The FoundryVTT team have applied a hotfix to v0.8.9 which solves the problem. You just have to re-install that version. Please note that this problem happens only on local FoundryVTT installations (electron app). If you use Forge or self-host Foundry in a server then you will have no problem downloading/updating the modules.

Panagiotis I

So whenever I try to import the Manifest URL it tells me that it isn't valid Manifest file.

Walter Mecham

Just for future reference for users that have the same problem. If you visit https://forge-vtt.com/bazaar#sort=title&filter=custom On this page there is a link where it says "Or install a package via its Manifest URL". By clicking that link you should be able to enter the manifest URL that I provide on every Foundry Module Patreon post (https://patreon.com/cthulhu_architect?filters[tag]=foundry modules).

Panagiotis I

I just sent you a private message in order to solve those issues

Panagiotis I

I'm just a bit lost on how to use the manifest url, I installed the module but it only has the free maps.

matthew campbell

Yes, there are people using the forge and they use my modules just fine.

Panagiotis I

I'm hosting on forge. Will this work the same there?

matthew campbell

Feel free to make some 1880s map requests and I will add them to my backlog. Maybe you will see some designed in the future.

Panagiotis I

Thanks! I am trying my best

Panagiotis I

You are KILLIN IT with these. I'm running an 1880s game so they're a little late in terms of period, but who would know?
