NEW VIDEO: An Incomprehensibly British Review of Thank Goodness You're Here!

Oh good gravy, it's that wee demo, gone and turned into a proper game, like!

Yes I got a review copy of Thank Goodness You're Here! Which I wasn't expecting to cover, but a code was thrown at my email whilst I was in the vague recovering phase of poisoning myself, and I figured why not make something on a little darling that charmed the pants off of me.

It's something of a challenge to write a full review out of something that I already previewed without repeating myself. I think I reuse a line or two, but I also decided to purposefully expand on the initial gag of that demo preview, which was filling the writing with so much Britishisms and references as to make it seem alien to my primarily American audience. I had initially thought to make it so densely packed with slang and pointed remarks to British culture that someone would need a reference guide to make sense of it (somewhat inspired by currently reading Gravity's Rainbow) but I reigned that fantasy in a bit, for my health if anything. Still, I'll be happy if at least one comment is simply titled "What?"

The Consuming Shadow now. This time for sure. It's underway and will be out this month. Then we're going to clear some brainworms. The book video first and then it's time to decide what to do about Project Rogue. I don't like it looming over me. It literally is, the main book I need to read for it is facing me as I type this, the face on the cover scowling down at me from my shelf like it's judging me. Well it can wait a little bit longer. Once I start on that it'll be a big project I want to dedicate my everything to finishing.

There's a chance there'll be smaller digressions like this video, and I do have a desire to pick up the pace with the adventure game videos, but I am one man. I will keep you updated as I tackle these beasts.

So until next time, stay safe.

Seeing as this review was a near perfect recreation of the three years I spent rooming with my friend from Shropshire— complete with explanatory viewings of adverts— I feel obligated to buy him a gift copy of the game. It can be late, late repayment for the chocolate oranges I stole from his stash. [Edit: I have been informed that I misremembered, and actually stole his “jaffa cakes” which I don’t think changes anything aside from the absurdity of the name] Good luck with the upcoming videos, and take care!
