NEW VIDEO: Tony Hawk's Gaming Wasteland

https://youtu.be/SdwZNqBfyJg

Man I love Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. I love hitting million point combos. I love hearing the special move sound. I love jamming out to some sweet tunes that informed my own musical tastes for years to come.

I don't love the year we're in right now, and how the game makes me think about it.

This video has been in the brain since the start of the year, but has morphed a lot over time; fermenting as it swirled in the ol' noodle and being influenced by a lot of the news happening in the industry as I've been working on it. Honestly, I'm not even sure this video goes far enough, but then we hit the problem of what little people can actually do in a hostile world where the structure of it burns the people at the bottom to turn the turbines. Maybe something to revisit when I feel I can.

Anyway, next video will be the demo festival in June. After that, The Consuming Shadow. That one shouldn't take long and I'll be writing the script while I'm doing my travelling business. After that we'll get one of these previously mentioned brain-worm topics out of the way...

Thank you all. Stay safe.

Jack

This video encouraged me to support you on patreon (even though I forgot to do so until now) I love your videos because I can feel how enthusiastic you are to video games. Your Tunic video and Signalis video is one of my favorites. And as someone who loves video game culture, and wanting to be part of making one someday, this one really hit me hard. Thank you for amazing videos, and I hope to see more contents from you. Cheers!

Excellent reminder that every video game release is a small miracle. I’ve been wallowing over the recent IGN acquisitions and subsequent layoffs. Every branch of the games industry seems to be suffering at the hands of profit motive. This video helped remind me that the least we can do is thank the people affected for their hard work and express our support for their efforts. Thank you for the gift of a video (despite it being YOUR birthday, not our collective one!) Hope you have a fantastic birthday and a wonderful trip ahead
