Update: Navygating the Labyrinth

Hello everyone. I hope you're doing well.

It's been about a month since Proximate came out so I thought I'd update you all on what I'm doing.

In terms of projects I mentioned in the last post, I have slimmed things down somewhat in order to keep myself productive.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is getting shelved until I have nothing else on my plate. I need to be able to sit down and focus entirely on it. Too many moving parts and swimming thoughts. I could have put everything else aside to get into it, but I figured the other projects were more pressing.

King's Quest III is a game I have played now, if not finished. Yes I hadn't actually committed myself to more than a sample of it until recently. I'm endeavouring to do it without hints or a walkthrough (breaking the seal for KQ2 and SQ hurts my Gamer Pride™) but this was a commitment made before I saw my opponent. The commenters who have posted about looking forward to this one suddenly make a lot more sense. The video will be very fun when it's done, but I have been slow with it because this game is evil. Still want to get this done and will continue to get through it. More to come when I figure out what I'm doing.

And then there are the distractions.

Blue Prince is a game I've fallen in love with and I did consider clearing my schedule to just talk about it and what it does, maybe delve into its stories and secrets contained within its gothic manor. Then I hit 20 hours without an ending in sight. Then I hit 30 hours with even more loose threads. I have had to move my notes to a new notebook because I ran out of space. I am enjoying my time with the game, maybe I will make something with the many hours of footage I have, so long as it doesn't kill me, but I should finish with the game first.

Doom: The Dark Ages isn't out, but it will also probably be a distraction. There will probably be a video but wait and see until I actually have hands on it. My current PC can't even run it according to the minimum CPU requirements, but I am looking into that...

So where does that leave me in terms of work? Why, with the third project I mentioned in the previous post of course.

Almost all of the groundwork for that project is done and I am in the writing phase.

It's a large and difficult project

but I'm sure that you will all be happy

to see what it is. It's not a game but

it is probably

familiar

to you.

I do not know when this will be completed but things are already underway. I will share more when I have more to share.

Thank you to you all for your support, and I will speak to you again soon.

Stay safe, stay brave.

I love House. I show it to friends whenever I get the chance.

Have you ever seen the 1977 film House directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi? I think you would enjoy it. When I teach my horror film class (I'm an English professor), I use this film to help students develop strategies for understanding something that seems impenetrable. if you watch it, you'll see why! Bonus for fun cat material.

Lots of blue prints and blue prince around! VERY excited for the return of a scary house, and glad you’re enjoying the Puzzles. I had a lot of fun filling out my own notebook with scribbles and solutions and rooms i needed to revisit with a magnifying glass
