Nomad & Pharah Animation (WIP)

Hey everyone! A lot of stuff to go through today.

Since I didn't share as much content as usual in last week's post, I thought it'd make up for it.

As I mentioned last week, we're getting a new Panam set next. I think it'd be cool for me to share an extra step or two of the process of creating these renders. With this Panam render, you can see the difference that a little sculpting can do between image 1 and 2. As some of you may know, I don't consider myself good with sculpting, I usually try to use it as a tool to enhance existing shapes rather than making big changes to the characters' anatomy. This time, however, I tried my hand to replicate what I had in reference. It turned out as a pretty simplistic scene, but that is often ideal for focusing on more complex details such as anatomy and lighting. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Now, the animation. I couldn't resist from giving Pharah, being the fitness icon that she is, a gym animation. I knew from the start that I wanted something that would focus on her muscles, mainly her abs. The idea fit perfectly into a bench press position, so I went from there. The toughest part for me, as you might imagine, was to come up with the environment. I decided to make something simple yet pleasing, maybe Pharah's private gym or something like that. Before I knew it, most of the lighting and composition was already in place. I have to say that I'm quite proud of myself for getting so much done in so little time. I really liked how the scene's colors turned out. I didn't start animating it yet, but I feel like I might try to do something special with this one. I'll probably go for a longer animation, maybe even different endings. We'll see, it's quite early to tell.

Please keep in mind that the animation process might take time depending on what I go for. I'm very pleased with how it looks, so I want the animation to be just as good. So even though the previews might look good already, I haven't even started animating it yet, so it will take a while until it's finished.
