April Collection: Full Reveal! Embrace Redemption Through Suffering!

March's knights will soon be retiring to the Steelwatch Bastions following a glorious month of monster-slaying and semi-competitive oath recital. They'll need to watch their backs though, as the Excruciarch Clerics have begun scrabbling from the Ebonwrack Pit, crossing Kaerannion's borders to spread misery and suffering among its already pretty downtrodden peasants. Let's take a look at April's complete collection in all its miserable horror!

Leading the assault on the hearts and minds (and limbs) of their unwilling flock are the foot soldiers of this pernicious cult - the Dark Clerics of the Excruciarchy. The worldly trappings of their devotion are diverse, ranging from the Many-Sided Mask of Melancholy to the infamous Cranial Cage of Insensate Virtue. Some carry censers of foul-smelling incense, while the most dedicated haul around an impossibly heavy Wheel of Woe, upon which even the most banal of unpleasant acts committed by the cult's 'saints' are recorded in excruciating detail. The collection includes 10 of these pain-loving priests.

The Dark Clerics are accompanied by 6 Goblin Wretchtants, representing some of the original inhabitants of the Ebonwrack Pit that have now been pressed into servitude by their callous human masters. It takes a lot to outdo goblins when it comes to cruelty and spite, but the clerics and cultists of the Excruciarchy have the radiant hostility of the goddess Sha'dra on their side.

Now let's move on to a pair of bigger miniatures that have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with goblins - the Cloister Sentinels. These towering demonic beings shamble amidst the collapsed rock and detritus of the Ebonwrack catacombs, slaying interlopers with a seemingly haphazard yet brutally effective approach to combat. And, once again, they have absolutely nothing to do with goblins. Nothing at all.

Finally we come to a dark triumvirate of especially bizarre character models. Umbalor the Unseeing - known to his dark devotees as the Herald of Misery - has spent decades stripping away every last iota of pleasure from his hateful existence, even driving iron rods through his eyes and ears to avoid experiencing the satisfaction of his torture victims' anguish.

By contrast, Magistress Dominia d'Payne thrives on the subjugation and torment of man and goblin alike, though the pair of unfortunate underlings that bear her palanquin are believed to be willing devotees... probably. It's hard to tell what with their mouths being seared shut and the Cranial Cages and all. Dominia is the keeper of the Scroll of Saintly Suffering and is especially highly regarded by those Excruciarch Clerics that carry the Wheel of Woe.

The influence and ambition of Magistress d'Payne are kept in check by the only member of the Excruciarchy who outranks her - Grand Bilophant Ix, the Mouth of Sha'dra. No man has devoted himself more fervently to the cause of redemption through suffering, spreading pain and misery across the land from the back of his monstrous mount, a mind-withering Rancoroth of Sha'dra. These vile creatures are the spawn of the goddess herself, birthed when her very divinity was nearly torn asunder in a spasm of cosmic excruciation. They hail from the uttermost depths of the Ebonwrack Pit, and emanate an overwhelming aura of misery that no mortal can resist. Enjoy!
