You have ONE WEEK to get your holiday shopping done AND also learn this song. I generally think Christmas music is lame but there are a few good songs out there that I really enjoy. Greensleeves AKA What Child is This is a fantastic piece that is ripe for modification. I'm posting a tab-on-screen video soon but want to make sure you all have the printable pdfs. If anyone uses MuseScore let me know and I can post those files as well.

The melody can be heard using the natural 6th in some versions (implying a dorian or melodic minor feel) but in other versions it uses the flat 6 to stay in Minor. Nearly every version introduces the natural 7th to produce a dominant chord.

I've tabbed out two version for you here- my easy beginner's version, which is still lovely and a great piece to learn just to see how a melody and a chord progression can be put together with ease on the guitar, and the more advanced version that I've cobbled together over the years. There was a version of this song I pirated on Napster way back then and much of my phrasing has been stolen from that, but I've added in several of my own additions.

The right hand picking is pretty self explanatory- keep your thumb playing the notes on strings 6, 5, and 4, then keep other three fingers playing the other three strings. Occasionally your index will have to drop down to hit that 4th string....
