Making A 12-Bar Blues Backing Track

Hey everyone!

Wednesday night we had a great live stream with a lot of contributions. We spent about an hour creating a 12-bar blues, using nothing more than software and a mouse. No recorded instruments. After that, I talk a little on how to practice using a track like this, and the things I'm currently working on regarding pentatonics and blues.

I'm learning more about the Twitch ecosystem. It looks like my videos there get deleted after 2 weeks, so I've downloaded the whole stream and uploaded it to my YouTube channel as an unlisted video. You'll hear me talking to chat-room members but won't be able to see their comments- I expect to have that fixed in the next video, since I learned there's a way to display the chat in the actual video.

The viewers live experienced a really annoying LOUD audio jump on 3 separate occasions. I've edited that horrible noise out to prevent scaring anyone lol. It was pretty wild. I've still got some bugs to work out but I'm enjoying the livestream process and think there's a lot of potential going forward for live lessons including you all. For the time being, I'll stay on twitch and announce the stream schedule only for you here, but in the future I can see myself doing these on YouTube once I'm more comfortable with the whole process.

As always, let me know if you have any questions regarding the work we did here. Thanks and see you!

Comments

Aw man now you get me buying Reason, more gear, well at least my wife doesn't know I have bought this unlike the guitar, bass and pedals arrived just before lock down. I actually love the bass line on this track, apart from when you tried to go all Daft Punk on us :) blues bass doesn't have to get funky

He is using Reason

What is the studio app or software you are using where all the instruments and amps are built-in?
