Last night around midnight I went ahead and downloaded Splatoon 2, although it took a few tries. Not surprisingly, seeing as it's Nintendo, their store went pretty bonkers around midnight and kept crashing. So I would get most of the way through the checkout process multiple times on Splatoon 2, only to have it crash before finalizing. Finally, I got the game, but then I kind of panicked and went to check my bank account... and sure enough, I was charged for every failed attempt. I was ready to freak out until I looked into it more, and they were all actually pending transactions, and within an hour they were all resolved and I was only charged for the game once. Still, it's enough to make me think that, if I plan to download anything from Nintendo in the future, I should probably just wait until the next day.
In other Nintendo news, I got both of my Bayonetta amiibo. They released versions for how she looked in Bayo 1 and Bayo 2, so of course I had to order both. I'm actually not a very big Amiibo collector... I have 8 of them, and aside from Bayo I mostly bought the others just because I saw them on sale... I'm hesitant to buy these things even at list price, so I'm sure as hell not going to pay scalper prices for any of them.

2017-07-22 01:19:59 +0000 UTCI don't pay too much attention to competitive rules lol all I know is I saw a sizzle reel from EVO and my girl killed it in the last round lol. I'm actually making a conscious effort to buy more stuff digitally specifically for the Switch, because as a "portable" system, it's better for me to be able to choose from a variety of games without having to swap out game carts... for PS4 the only games I own digitally are the ones that come with Playstation Plus, since I can pretty much always get the game cheaper physically... and since I know I'm always going to be in the same room as the rest of my game collection if I'm playing it

When it comes to console games, unless I can get a game cheaper digitally, I usually like to get physical media. BTW, I can't believe it took Nintendo over a year to come out with the final wave of Smash Amiibo. By this time Bayo is already banned from competitive play last I heard.
