Do you perform live? I need your help with BandAlert!

SHORT VERSION: I'm looking for 5 performers/bands who gig in their local scene at least once a month to help me test and improve a service I've helped create called BandAlert. It's purpose is to help local bands succeed without having to rely on social media.

If this is you, send an email to signalsmusicjake@gmail.com with a few details (where you perform, how often, what kind of act) and we'll continue from there if space is still available!

LONG VERSION:

I get frustrated when I miss out on my favorite local bands simply because I'm not on Facebook or Instagram all the time to see their posts. I noticed though that when bands texted me directly about their show, I was MUCH more likely to attend.

I thought it would be helpful to have a service where bands can quickly and easily create their own fan lists, allowing them to text fans the day of their gig automatically. This cuts out the middle man, enabling bands to directly contact their fans even if they're offline like me. Fans can sign up by texting a special code to a phone number, scanning a qr code, or clicking on a link. Meanwhile, bands can grow their fan list and keep it forever, paying a small monthly fee to deliver texts and having the ability to pause the service at any time.

The goal is to provide an affordable and effective way for bands to fill up seats at their local gigs. Bands have enough to worry about, and creating content for 5 different social platforms is just another obstacle. I believe bands and performers will be empowered when they can quickly and easily sign up fans without asking them to first download an app or create an account, and unlike other services, I want to make sure that bands have complete ownership of their data and can take it with them should they choose to leave.

I had no chance of building this sort of service myself and was extremely lucky to have recruited Niels Provos into this project - you may remember him from my Humans vs AI video! He has done all the heavy lifting to get this working, and now we both want to try our best to make BandAlert a service that performers love to use.

Ultimately, bands will have to pay a small fee to pay for text delivery, but right now since we're still in testing mode, we'd like to invite you to the service and pay all fees on your behalf to help us iron out any bugs or requested features. So that's what this post is all about!

Right now we only have resources for about 5 bands/performers to try out the service for free, so if you're interested in helping and filling up more seats at the venues you perform at, please send me an email and we'll authorize you for a promotional account to start using BandAlert for free. It'll happen on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if this is your thing, email me asap!

Hey which video are you talking about? I'll see if I can find it for ya!

Does anyone know where I can find the tabs and mp3 of the fulling diminished song Jake wrote? The link in the description of that video doesn’t work anymore

Right on supporting local musicians. I've been trying to set up decent recording and a label to get the local kids music up on streaming, I learned most of my music theory and production from your earlier videos. Unfortunately I'm busy all the time working my tech job, progress is slow. I don't know anyone immediately interested atm but I'll share it out on local nextdoor and vouche for you. There's a tragic lack of live venues around here, but it's worth a shot. Glad you're staying the course dude. 🙏❤️🎸🔥
