As they approached the airport counter, Monica and Camila were met with skeptical looks from the staff.
"Excuse me, ladies, but we noticed that you only have one body. Is that correct?" asked the airport staff member.
"Yes, that's correct," replied Monica.
"In that case, you'll need to purchase two tickets for two seats," said the staff member.
"Why would we need two seats if we only take up one?" asked Camila.
"I understand your confusion, but our policy requires each passenger to have their own seat," explained the staff member.
"But we only have one body! It's not like we can separate and sit separately," argued Monica.
"I'm sorry, but our policy is clear. You'll need to purchase two tickets," repeated the staff member.
Camila and Monica exchanged worried glances. They didn't have enough money for two tickets. They had saved up just enough for one.
"What are we going to do?" Camila thought.
Monica looked determined. "We'll just have to convince them," she thought with a smirk.
She turned to the staff member and said, "Listen, we understand your policy, but we're in a unique situation here. We only have one body, and we can't afford two tickets. Is there any way you can make an exception for us?"
The staff member hesitated, but then looked at the pleading faces of the girls and said, "I'll have to check with my supervisor."
After a few minutes of waiting, the staff member returned with a nod. "We've made an exception for you two. You can purchase one ticket for one seat, but please keep in mind that this is a one-time exception," he said sternly.
Monica and Camila breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the staff member.
As they boarded the plane, they couldn't help but feel grateful that they had each other to rely on. They noted the careful scrutiny of the stewardess. They took their seats and soon the plane was in the air.
After a while, a stewardess approached them and asked them to come with her to the back of the plane. Camila thought "Oh, trouble" to which Monica replied "Don't worry, they won't throw us off the plane."
"I noticed that ladies take one seat instead of two, would you please show me the ticket again?" said the stewardess.
Monica pulled out a ticket and handed it to the flight attendant who watched it carefully, then looked at the girls saying "There will be a problem"
"What problem?" Monica replied with concern in her voice.
"On the ticket it says passenger Monica Camila Newton Lewis as one person, but when we arrive customs will require you to have two tickets with your names matching your passports," the flight attendant explained.
Camila looked at Monica thinking "Hell, they'll turn us back at the airport" to which Monica thought "Not so fast, this stewardess is very friendly and maybe she can help", then she said aloud "What can we do now?"
"Unfortunately, sir, there is nothing you can do at this point." she replied and for a few seconds no one said anything. "But maybe I can do something for You, ladies" she said with a slight smile.
Monica thought "Anything can be done" to which Camila replied mentally "Yeah, just curious what she wants in return" and then out loud "Okay, what can you do for us?"
"I will take you to customs for the plane staff, they know me well, they will explain what the problem is and they should let you through without any problem" she said "But I would like you to buy me a drink in the club in the evening for the trouble" she added with a smile.
Monica and Camila looked at each other and both thought to each other at the same time "Is she hitting on us?" followed by a cacophony of exchanged thoughts. This went on for a while and they noticed that the stewardess had stopped smiling and was standing in front of them with an expression of uncertainty.
Camila quickly said "Of course" to which Monica added "Sorry, we're a little surprised, but of course we'll go on a date." then there was a momentary silence and Camila mentally threw to her "Did you really say a date?"
Monica immediately understood that the flight attendant was only inviting them for a drink, which could mean anything, and she had said too much out loud. When she looked at the stewardess, she was relieved to see that she was smiling and saying, "Well then, we're going on a date."
