The End and Return of Deviants

It’s time to start over completely. Deviants will be cancelled this month and the last few pages will be posted as well as the last page of The Orgy. After that we will start anew with a new incarnation of Deviants. Here are the details:

-Deviants is cancelled. The current chapter and story will unfortunately be unfinished but I am at the point where I can’t keep this going. I have already told Kooroiwwa and I do appreciate the work they’ve put on the comic.

-The Orgy is cancelled. It will have its final page posted this week.

-Deviants will be a new series using the same name. I’ve wanted to create a series that encompasses all the deviants races but just Jameson and the succubi doesn’t fit the title as well as I had envisioned. Expect a broader and varied cast of characters and races. The story will be more slice of life and simplistic. I will have more details for this new comic soon. Older Deviants won’t be removed but they won’t be continued.

-Aya will be the artist for the new Deviants and it will be the only comic starting next month.

-Weekly polls will be discontinued next month. I will still post polls for the remainder of this month.

Why is Deviants getting cancelled? Why not just have Aya continue it?

There’s just no passion in continuing it. I’ve learned a lot of things and have made decisions in the comic that I wish I could take back. I have wanted to end the comic for some time but kept pushing ahead and it became less and less of a priority in getting the scripts done. Right now I’m writing the script for the new comic and I have gone through four different story ideas. The fourth one has taken all the elements from the previous ones and is the strongest to me. I have more interest in writing that than I have for Deviants for quite a while.

I haven’t forgotten the fans and supporters, the people that have stuck with me and have shown genuine interest and want more. You’re the reason this comic made it this far and don’t forget that. But I’m sure we’ve all had a product we really liked become discontinued due to lack of sales or a favorite show with low ratings that gets cancelled. And that’s kind of what has happened. But in its place will be something new and better.
