A little something different

So I'm dealing with some physical problems right now, mostly a series of crippling migraines from what could be a sustained concussion. I can't focus well enough to write new chapters. That said, my family has been insisting for a while that I put my work out into the world...

This is the first five chapters of my first novel. I know I need to go through and edit it, but that'd take a long time by myself. Hopefully if I can find a publisher I can get a professional editor to help me out. That said, please take a look and tell me what you think.

Wow! Do not know how I missed this, but I'm so exxcited to read your book!! How cool is this that you are sharing your 1st chapters w/us!?! Thanks Verstinae, I know it will be great!! I'll get back to you after I've read & absorbed! ; )

As a general rule, I recommend to every author they read Konrath's blog [1] - he has a lot of advice. For this particular issue, I found an article of his (not on his blog) with editing advice [2]. Finally, look for something like "editors for self published books" - it's much easier to find an editor than a publisher, as Rowling can attest to :) [1] http://jakonrath.blogspot.com/ [2] http://www.nanoedmo.com/articles-and-editing-help/2009-articles/top-ten-editing-tips-j-a-konrath/
