The Future of Normandy FM

Hey everyone. So everything we’re discussing in this post will be discussed in this week’s episode, but we wanted to let all of you who have supported us on Patreon be the first to know.

So for those of you that may have not gotten caught up to where the show’s at, this week will be our final episode of Andromeda, thus our final episode covering Mass Effect. It has been an amazing year and we cannot thank you all enough for supporting us throughout. When Eric and I started this show we never expected it to gain a following, much less one that would be willing to help support the show and all the costs involved in keeping it online.

We always knew that a Mass Effect retrospective was a finite thing. But thanks to all of your support we've reached (and dipped under, but we reached it once so we're gonna do it) the tier to begin a Dragon Age retrospective, which we expect to run us just as long as our Mass Effect one did. So basically, Normandy FM has another year in it and we hope each of you who have joined us in the fight against the Reapers and in settling Andromeda will stick around as we head to Thedas.

However, as we've mentioned on the show, our day jobs are gonna require a major time sink over the next couple months. For those who don't know, Eric and I are both journalists in the industry. Eric is the News Editor over at USGamer, and I'm a freelancer at a few sites, most commonly seen over at Fanbyte where I'm the Weekend Reporter. The tldr is that because review season is about to consume us, Normandy FM is gonna be on a brief hiatus for the rest of 2019. But we didn't want to just leave you all with a nebulous ~we'll be back eventually~. Especially when you all have been supporting us here on Patreon. So drumroll please...

*drumroll*

Normandy FM will return on January 15th with our first Dragon Age: Origins episode. This episode will focus on the origin chapters of the game, both the ones we'll be playing ourselves, as well as going over the ones we don't just to be thorough.

As for the Patreon, we'll be ensuring none of you are charged for the months of December or January, as we won't be producing the show at all in December, and not enough times in January to merit what you all have been paying for. So no need to worry about that. It will be back to business as usual in February.

Eric and I have discussed possible fun side stuff we might do in December, just to keep us in your podcast feeds and your hearts during the hiatus. Until those are solidified I won't list any specifics for today. But if you want to keep up with those announcements, we'll of course be posting them here for patrons, but also over on Twitter @normandyfmshow.

I think that should about do it. But I did want to leave you all with a sneak peek of something really exciting that we've got ready for when we make the transition to Dragon Age. Thanks to all of your contributions we were able to commission new art and music for the Dragon Age seasons! I went looking on Twitter for an artist who could recreate Dragon Age: Inquisition's tarot card style, and I found the wonderful @miz0mei, who captured exactly what I was picturing.

Until we meet again Normandy crew.
