"without the gote" day 2

alright we're back for day two and my last day in milan. i have to admit my brain and my finger were both mostly a pulp at this point...

exercise one: upright small bamboo suspension. i was thrilled about the idea of the giant y-hanger on either side of the bamboo. i'm somewhat annoyed with myself that i have't tried this upper body harness again since then. this shape was very challenging for kitten--it was a LOT of chest compression, in addition to the bamboo straight into the upper back. this is another "how do we make this a more sessionable tie" project.

exercise two: "the porn one" as you saw previously with will. this was SO FUN. and quite silly. and used all sorts of technique that was not in my usual toolkit (pulley system! single rope hishi!)

exercise three: "teardrop" this was the most dynamic tie of the weekend. it involved a chest harness that was essentially (only) three hojo cuffs around the chest and each bicep, which made me incredibly nervous. to my surprise, this was incredibly sustainable for kitten, and we got through the whole sequence with minimal bumps.

exercise four: "the illusion". the idea of this one was for it to look like she's suspended from her mouth when she is most definitely not. i unfortunately had to rush through this, because the workshop was running over and i had to zoom to the airport, and i wasn't particularly happy with how it turned out BUT i'll take any excuse to make kitten drool for a little while.

• my general conclusion from the workshop as a whole: for the love of god i need to get out of my usual habits. i default to tying structural harnesses because they feel reliable, but i don't think that always necessary or important. get! out! of! your comfort zone! syd!
