The Masked Strength of the Sect's Trash Chapter 5

Chapter 5 Sword Intent takes Form

The next day, as soon as Xiao Yi got up, Ji Yan arrived at her house.

"Pack your things. I'll take you to the sword cave," Ji Yan instructed.

Xiao Yi followed Ji Yan to a location in the southeast corner of Tianyu Peak.

The area was home to a natural cave. Standing at the entrance, Xiao Yi could see all the way inside. The cave was about 20 to 30 meters high and stretched hundreds of meters deep. There was even a large square within it.

Xiao Yi examined the cave curiously but didn’t find anything particularly special about it.

Unable to contain her curiosity, she asked, "Big Brother, what’s inside?"

“Sword intent,” Ji Yan replied.

Immediately, Xiao Yi remembered the sword intent from the previous night that had made her soul tremble. Goosebumps broke out across her skin.

“Do I really have to go in?” Xiao Yi asked, her voice trembling with fear.

If she faced that sword intent now, she was certain she would die.

Ji Yan reassured her, “No rush. Just wait.”

Xiao Yi didn’t dare ask what they were waiting for; she just wanted to cry.

They waited until noon. Fortunately, they were cultivators, so impatience didn’t set in as quickly as it might have otherwise. However, even Ji Yan seemed to grow restless. Without any obvious movement, the long sword on his back suddenly unsheathed and flew into the air.

Xiao Yi watched with eyes full of envy.

“That’s so cool,” she thought.

Not long after, the long sword returned, slipping back into its scabbard with a clang, the threatening cold light vanishing.

About half an hour later, Lu Shaoqing arrived, grumbling, “Are you crazy? What kind of senior brother are you?”

“Is it a crime to sleep in?”

Ji Yan snorted, “What did I tell you to do today? Have you forgotten?”

Lu Shaoqing looked at Xiao Yi and chuckled, “Forgotten? How could I forget?”

“Can you blame me for this? Wasn’t it because of you last night?”

“If it wasn’t for you dragging me into a fight last night, would I be this exhausted?”

Xiao Yi’s eyes widened. Could her two senior brothers be…? She dismissed the thought quickly, but Lu Shaoqing’s words made it difficult not to think that way.

“Enough nonsense. Just keep watch,” Ji Yan ordered.

“If you’re not confident, don’t drag others into this,” Lu Shaoqing said. “Can’t she learn slowly?”

“The sooner she learns, the better,” Ji Yan insisted.

Lu Shaoqing sighed and turned to Xiao Yi, “Junior Sister, do you have any last words? Oh, but last words aren’t as important as your legacy. Is there anything you need to pass on?”

Xiao Yi’s face turned pale. She looked at Ji Yan, “Big Brother, is it dangerous inside?”

“Don’t listen to him. Believe only 30% of what he says; treat the rest like nonsense,” Ji Yan reassured her.

“If you’re so confident in the sword cave you designed, why do you need me here?” Lu Shaoqing quipped. “You just don’t want to lose face.”

Ignoring Lu Shaoqing, Ji Yan turned to Xiao Yi and said, “Go in.”

Xiao Yi looked at the sword cave. To her, it felt like the gaping maw of a beast, waiting to devour her, a delicate and helpless prey. She looked pitifully at her two senior brothers.

“Big Brother, Second Brother, I—”

“There’s no room for argument. You’re going in today,” Ji Yan interrupted. “You can only come out once you’ve comprehended the sword intent.”

Lu Shaoqing added, “Don’t worry. If you die in there, I’ll make sure to collect your body. By the way, you really don’t have any inheritance?”

With a sharp clang, Ji Yan’s sword was halfway out of its sheath.

Lu Shaoqing quickly corrected himself, “Go on in. There won’t be any danger. And even if there is, it’ll be over in an instant. No pain.”

Xiao Yi was on the verge of tears. “Dad, Uncle, Tianyu Peak is too dangerous—I want to go home,” she thought.

But there was no other choice. With no other options, Xiao Yi bit the bullet and entered the sword cave.

Behind her, Lu Shaoqing called out, “Feel it with your heart. Stay calm and don’t force it.”

Xiao Yi felt a flicker of gratitude toward her Second Brother. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all.

But before she could say anything, Lu Shaoqing added, “If you force it and die, I’ll collect your body. But if there’s no inheritance, my efforts will have been in vain.”

Xiao Yi turned around and glared at Lu Shaoqing fiercely, then proceeded into the sword cave.

As soon as she entered, the cave entrance vanished behind her.

Xiao Yi looked around and found herself in a small wooden house. There was nothing inside—not even a door.

She stepped out and saw a wide square outside. In the center stood a tall stone pillar with something perched on top of it.

Xiao Yi approached and saw what it was—a dragon.

A small white dragon coiled around the stone pillar, its head and horns exuding an air of ferocity and immense pressure.

When it noticed her, the little white dragon opened its eyes in a flash.

Its emotionless eyes locked onto Xiao Yi, sending chills down her spine as the overwhelming pressure made her body tremble.

She recognized the aura emanating from the little white dragon—it was the same terrifying sword intent she had felt the night before.

The little white dragon was a manifestation of the sword intent.

Every part of its body was formed by sword intent, and it was incredibly fierce.

“Sword Intent Takes Form!” Xiao Yi realized. This was the second level of sword intent.

How powerful was her eldest senior brother?

Xiao Yi wanted to cry. What had she done to deserve such a trial on her second day here?

Summoning her courage, Xiao Yi gathered her spiritual power.

Her actions seemed to trigger something in the dragon. The little white dragon left the stone pillar, soaring into the air and rushing toward her.

Even before the dragon reached her, its immense aura struck her like a heavy hammer to the chest.

“Pfft!”

Xiao Yi coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Panic filled her eyes. “It’s too strong. I’m no match for it.”

But the little white dragon was relentless, continuing its assault.

“Roar”

With a thunderous roar, Xiao Yi felt as if countless flying swords were piercing her body.

She spat out more blood.

She knew she couldn’t withstand another attack like that. She looked around, desperate for any escape, but there was nothing.

As the little white dragon prepared to attack again, Xiao Yi scrambled back into the small wooden house she had emerged from.

The dragon halted its attack, circling the cabin and glaring at it.

After catching her breath, Xiao Yi mustered up her courage and taunted the dragon, “Little worm!”

But this only seemed to enrage the dragon.

“Roar”

With a furious roar, the cabin shattered into pieces.
