The Masked Strength of the Sect's Trash chapter 52

Chapter 52 Even if You Are My Daoist Partner, I Don't Want to

Xia Yu was both amused and exasperated, not expecting that Ji Yan’s solution would be so straightforward.

Is this really how the people of Tianyu Peak interact with each other?

Still, she had never actually seen Lu Shaoqing in action and didn’t know how strong he truly was.

Noticing Xia Yu’s curious gaze sizing him up, Lu Shaoqing immediately felt irritated. “What? You want to try me out?”

Xia Yu smiled and gently shook her head. “Junior brother Lu , you must be joking.”

She was indeed curious about Lu Shaoqing’s strength, but following Ji Yan's suggestion to provoke him would only anger him and bring no benefits.

However, Bian Rourou was eager to see her senior sister teach Lu Shaoqing a lesson. She chimed in, “Senior Sister, why not take Ji Yan’s advice and spar with him? If he’s not strong enough, then we don’t need him to come along.”

Xia Yu admonished her, “Stop being ridiculous.”

Lu Shaoqing sneered, “Come on, do you really think I’m afraid of you?”

Xia Yu tried to calm him down, “Junior brother Lu , there’s no need to be upset. I sincerely hope you can help me.”

The secret realm they were discussing was rare and extremely important to her. If time weren’t so tight, she wouldn’t have come here to ask for help. Compared to relying on strangers, Lu Shaoqing seemed like the most suitable candidate. He had comprehended sword intent, was in the Core Formation stage, and was strong enough for the task. Moreover, he was a disciple of a prominent sect, Shao Cheng’s student, and Ji Yan’s junior brother. On top of that, Shao Cheng had a good relationship with the elders of Shuangyue Valley, which made Lu Shaoqing someone she could trust.

However, Lu Shaoqing was incredibly stubborn and difficult to persuade.

Ji Yan's approach wouldn’t work, so Xia Yu shifted her attention to Shao Cheng, who seemed to be lost in thought.

“Uncle Shao,” Xia Yu said, “since the last competition, Auntie An has been waiting for you to visit Shuangyue Valley.”

Shao Cheng’s attention was immediately caught, and his previously distracted expression sharpened with interest.

“Did Sister Qianyan really say that?” Shao Cheng asked, his face showing excitement.

Lu Shaoqing cruelly burst his bubble, “Definitely not. You actually believe that?”

Shao Cheng angrily retorted, “Shut up and stay out of this!”

Xia Yu couldn’t help but smile internally. “Of course, Auntie An reminded me before I left to extend her greetings to you and said you’re always welcome to visit.”

Shao Cheng was delighted, his face beaming with an uncontrollable smile. “Sister Qianyan is so thoughtful.”

Lu Shaoqing interjected again, “Master, don’t fall for it. She’s just flattering you.”

“Don’t you know what you’re like? It’s impossible that Auntie An would be interested in you.”

Shao Cheng’s smile vanished as he glared at Lu Shaoqing. “Do you think everyone’s like you?”

“Stop causing trouble.”

He then turned back to Xia Yu with a warm smile. “Niece Xia Yu , don’t mind him. Lu Shaoqing is just straightforward by nature, and I can’t hold it against him.”

Xia Yu shook her head. “Junior brother Lu is honest and sincere. Why would I be upset? It’s precisely because of this nature that I’m even more hopeful he can assist me.”

“Uncle Shao, can you help me persuade him?”

Xia Yu spoke with a calm and pleading tone, making it hard for anyone to refuse.

Naturally, Shao Cheng wasn’t going to turn her down. He sternly ordered Lu Shaoqing, “Did you hear that? Go help your senior sister.”

Lu Shaoqing was speechless at how easily his master was swayed.

“Master, are you really going to switch sides so easily?”

Lu Shaoqing sighed. “Desire can easily cloud one’s judgment.”

“Master, you’ve failed at cultivating your mind. Just mentioning Auntie An is enough to turn you into a lovesick fool. How embarrassing is that for a Nascent Soul stage cultivator?”

Shao Cheng roared angrily, “Stop lecturing me and go help your senior sister!”

Lu Shaoqing sneered, “You think I’ll just obey because you say so? I won’t, and I’m not like you—I won’t lose my head over a pretty face.”

Xia Yu was taken aback, her rosy lips parted in surprise. Was this really how he spoke to his master?

This Junior brother Lu , what kind of person is he? He curses at his senior brother and shows no respect to his master.

Isn’t Shao Cheng supposed to be his master, not the other way around?

This was Xia Yu’s first time witnessing the interaction between the people of Tianyu Peak, and she was thoroughly shocked.

As for Fang Xiao and Bian Rourou, they were at a loss for words, especially Bian Rourou. She had previously clashed with Lu Shaoqing, and his attitude had infuriated her. But now she saw that he treated everyone this way, even his own master.

Bian Rourou bit her lip, her disdain for Lu Shaoqing growing. He really was a despicable person.

Shao Cheng’s face turned red with anger. He played his trump card, “Do you believe I won’t punish you right now?”

Lu Shaoqing wasn’t intimidated at all. With the arrogance of a bully, he even threatened back, “Do you believe I won’t complain to Auntie An later and tell her bad things about you?”

Everyone instantly felt that Shao Cheng’s authority had diminished.

“You brat! Your senior sister has come all this way to ask for your help. What’s wrong with helping her?”

Shao Cheng immediately dropped the idea of disciplining Lu Shaoqing, knowing full well that his rebellious disciple would actually follow through on his threat.

Shao Cheng felt like he might cough up blood. How could he be so powerless against this troublesome disciple?

Lu Shaoqing grinned and said, “So what if she came all this way? I’m still not going to help.”

Xia Yu gained a deeper understanding of why Fang Xiao described Lu Shaoqing as difficult to deal with. He was indeed very troublesome.

Nothing seemed to work on him—kind words, threats, nothing.

Even Xiao Yi couldn’t help but try to persuade him, “Second Senior Brother, why don’t you help Senior Sister Xia Yu? It’s just a small favor.”

Lu Shaoqing unceremoniously flicked her on the forehead. “If you want to go, then go. I’m not interested.”

“Why waste time on this when I could be napping?”

Xiao Yi gave Xia Yu an apologetic look, feeling powerless to help.

Lu Shaoqing turned to Xia Yu and said, “Senior sister Xia Yu , you should just go back and find someone else to help you.”

“I really can’t be of assistance.”

“Oh, by the way, there are plenty of other experts in Lingxiao Sect. If you don’t know them, have this guy here introduce you,” he added, pointing to Ji Yan.

Xia Yu was silent for a moment before asking, “Junior brother Lu , are you really unwilling to help?”

Lu Shaoqing replied, “Absolutely not, no matter what you say.”

“This is too troublesome. Even if you were my Dao partner, I wouldn’t do it.”

Bian Rourou snapped, “Shameless!”

Xia Yu blushed slightly but then smiled and said, “If Junior brother Lu refuses to help, then I’ll just have to stay here until you agree.”

Comments

I really despise people like her. What gives her the right to force him to help her? I really hope that if she tries to force him into helping her by invading his home as an univited guest that he just knocks her unconscious and throws her down the mountain. The threat also doesn't make sense given there is a time limit on how long the secret realm will remain open.
