A fun announcement today, coming to you about a couple of hours before it goes public on YouTube (though we should have enough stock that it won't sell out super fast!)

We're launching our new coffee magazine today, it's made out of recycled paper coffee cups, and we're very proud of it. I don't want to repeat what is in the video (plus if you're curious how coffee cups become magazines, we do visit the paper mill in the video), so I'll leave a few key bullet points here:

• The magazine is ad-free, and we'd rather stop publishing than have it be ad-driven

• We believe in paying people properly for excellent work

• Both of these things stop the magazine from being cheap, but our goal is to make something of lasting value

• I'm the publisher, which basically means we take on the financing of it. I don't draw a salary or earn from it (though I might get a nominal fee if I write a piece in the future!). The goal is to funnel all profits back into future editions and the commissioning of work.

• There are around 5,000 copies of this printed and sitting in a warehouse. The warehouse will process orders once a week (I think the first shipment will be Wednesday next week).

• If we sell out then we will do another print run, but that will take a little time. There will be no additional print runs after that.

• I'm afraid there's no Patreon discount for Issue 1. I'm hopeful we can do something for future issues though.

• We're aiming for 2 issues a year. There's no option to subscribe yet, I'm afraid.

Some of you may remember Longberry - a project from some years ago. It was fun, we are very proud of it, and we also learned a tonne of lessons from it. This has taken a little longer to get to print than we'd hoped, but we are quite a long way into issue 2 now so that is also very exciting.

Future editions may not be on the coffee cup paper. They may be in a different or smaller format (we reserve the right to experiment!) This edition feels extremely substantial, which is intentional, but may not be sustainable financially going forward.

More than anything else - if you pick one up, I hope you like it and enjoy reading it.
