The metal beneath her boots thrummed with heat, or maybe that was just her—the Sandevistan purring along her spine like a lover’s breath. "No anchor. No backup. Just the city watching me with its filthy, glowing eyes." She let her head fall back, mouth slightly open, tasting the electric sky, heart beating hard against her ribs like it wanted out. One hand slipped between the zip of her collar and slid lower, chrome fingertips skating over skin still flushed from the last run—"God, this place makes me so alive".
Her knees wobbled just enough to thrill her.
Sirens far below. Lights pulsing like come-ons. She laughed, low and hot in her throat, and leaned in until the world blurred at the edges.
And then—nothing but heat, breath, pressure—endless.
