A Little Poll About The Future Of The Channel

Hello everyone! Hope you're doing well.

I'll keep this as simple and as brief as I can:

The Deck Devastation Challenge is not doing well :(
It's never been a profitable show, but the most recent episode actually lost me subscribers when it uploaded.
I've still got 2 or 3 episodes in the tank, and I'm going to do my best to get them attention, but if things don't turn around quickly I'm going to have to end the show before it can tank the channel.

In the likely event that I do end up canceling the show, I want to have something ready to replace it. I have a few ideas, and I'd like to run them by you all; my biggest fans.

FUTURE PLANS

1 - Just continue the Deck Dev Challenge anyway.
I get almost as much money from ya'll on the Patreon as I do from Youtube, so if you really like the DDC I can keep it going. I may lose some casual subs, but it will be worth it to retain the loyal Patrons :)

2 - Replace it with with a standard Masochist Run.
This is probably the safest option. The content schedule wouldn't change, I'd just replace the Friday Deck Dev streams & videos with Masochist content instead. Doing my own version of a known success would probably be more popular, if not a bit unoriginal, and you'd still be getting weekly Yugioh vids.

3 - Work on my Tabletop RPG Instead.
If you're unaware, I've been working on my own TTRPG system for years now, and it's essentially done. All I need to do is test it, which involves making & running a few short campaigns.
It would probably take me a couple months to get everything set up, but once I do you'd get some long form videos of me DM'ing a game! If all goes well we can do more campaigns with other players, and if there's interest, maybe I can even do some lore videos for the universe I've created!

Of all the options, #3 is what I'd like to do most, but it's also the most risky.
Obviously it's not Yugioh content. And while the main channel was never intended to be exclusively Yugioh, I know that's what most people subscribe for.
Even if I keep the Ladder Climbs and the shorts coming, there's a chance that uploading Actual Plays will lose me even more subs than the DDC.

If I'm going to take a risk on something new that will take a lot of time, I need to know that you all will have my back. So vote with what you're genuinely interested in! If trying non-yugioh stuff on main would make you quit the Patreon then let me know by voting for the other options; that's perfectly understandable. As much as I'd like to branch out, I am an entertainer at the end of the day, and my goal is keep you entertained, however that may be :)

Regardless of what happens, thank you for your support and your time. I didn't mean for this to be such a wall of text but it be like that sometimes.

Comments

Yeah, the last two seasons ended up costing more money than they earned. Same with Master Cube. It seems like none of my crossovers do very well, which makes me feel like most of my audience isn't interested in content featuring other Yugitubers, they just like me playing on my own.

Personally I became a patron because I liked Chaos Draft so much, and my interest in it has not waned. But I know you've said that series didn't do well either.

So the thing about DBCs is that they are very hard to do on Master Duel. Because the only people who have enough cards and dust to build whatever they want are content creators who are already super busy. As for What a Deck, I feel like Ladder Climb is the spiritual successor to that. Like, if I brought back WaD it would just be Ladder Climb but shorter; 10 duels instead of 100+

Is it not an option to focus back to more episodes for DBC or WhatADeck series? I am not sure why they got put on hiatus so maybe I'm missing something, but neither masochist or deck dev are series types I find interesting. Although if you have a ttrpg you've built you care about I think you should totally give it the time it deserves, I'm unlikely to watch videos on it personally since I'm too busy with other stuff in life atm. I support your decision either way tho :)
