2020-09-24 21:17:48 +0000 UTCre the first guy: jeff bezos probably pays some taxes, but Amazon and the other tech companies dont pay taxes because they cheat the income tax system to say no profit made, by expanding at super speed, giving their own employees huge stock options and writing it off, and funneling money through other countries like Ireland. Thats why Yang wanted to tax Amazon and the others with a VAT to keep them from not paying any taxes annually. But with Jeff and the other billionaires I feel like most of their money isn't liquid and is just a result of them owning most of their company's stock, which is why Elon Musk can make or lose millions-billions any given month depending on how the stock moves. They probably all have a fuck ton of money liquid, outside of their assets though. But this is all why we need a VAT to tax the companies, because a wealth tax doesnt address the companies not being taxed. Yang's plan was good
