2023-02-15 06:06:24 +0000 UTCI get the feeling Charlie doesnt quite grasp the immediacy of rap as an artform. Its a lot like standup in that way, and why we expect standups to write new stuff every year. If it isnt relevant to your life right now it isnt really the artform at its core. Of course there are some raps that endure, but overall the idea of watching an old man rap about how hes young and hungry feels a little sad, just like if you watched Wil do bits from 20 years ago. That said Wil has joked about how itd be funny if you went to see people cover old standup routines so maybe I'm wrong?
