Added 2014-12-19 05:35:39 +0000 UTCI just finished Amanda Palmer's book "The Art of Asking" It was a really important book for me to read in just about every facet of my life, but the one I'd like to talk about today is being vulnerable, open and human to you guys, to my audience. I've had the belief, for the past few years, that I need to appear invincible, strong and powerful every day to be considered worthy of support, financial or otherwise. After reading this book, I'm not so sure that's the case. I've talked about doing personal blogs on this platform before, but I never knew how to say what was happening in my life without it being either boring or too open. Would you guys think I'm trying to garner sympathy? Or slack off? I have talked a bit about my mental health situation on Twitter, but not much anywhere else. It's really scary to think about opening myself up this way to people. So I suppose what I'm really doing here is asking: Do you guys, my Patrons, want to see me? Do you want to know what truly happens week by week in my life? I'm willing to share, I am just wanting to make sure there's at least a few ears that care to listen. Thank you guys. I'll be making some changes to this Patreon in the next few weeks. Rewards and such will remain the same (or improve!) but I need to figure some things out. P.S. The majority of the sketches/desktop BG are going to cut it close this month, I think! I have another blog post planned talking about what I've been doing with Furoticon too...jeez.
