2024-10-16 17:16:53 +0000 UTCon the first choice route by Moore (around 7 minutes) it seems to me that DJ is reading the weak safety at snap to determine the choice, while caleb is reading DJ to determine choice. Is this common, or should caleb just skip DJ, read the weak safety, see the rotation and know DJ is running the out and skip to Rome on the over? I'm just confused why Caleb is reading DJ instead of knowing how DJ will adjust based on the safety read.

It seems like you use “true WR1” as a Justin Jefferson full route tree, any throw, any time player. I think any reasonable fan will agree that DJ isn’t in that class of player. He’s not JJ, Chase, Lamb, Hill, and now add Collins. But there’s like not many of those dudes in the NFL. Bears fans call DJ Moore a WR1 as a player you are comfortable with being the best WR on your team. You’ve mentioned Deebo, and I think that’s a good comparison. He doesn’t have every club in the bag, but his driver and putter are dialed in.
