The majority of the southern states DO NOT support the confederate flag. There are still Americans that do and naturally they mostly come from the south, but that is not a representation of the south as it stands today. Bigotry of some form will always exist, but I do not believe that defines us as a region nor as a nation. But THANK YOU Colin for this topic and I love you guys
2015-07-01 10:19:08 +0000 UTCWhat part of Texas are you from? I ask because I'm from Austin and I've been aware that the flag was a symbol of racism for as long as I've known about the Civil War. I'd also never heard of it referred to as the war of northern aggression until I was in college. I've had a much more extensive history background than most people though. I'm just curious what parts of the country actually educated that way.
