Greg Failed You: GameOverGreggy Ep. 132
Added 2016-06-11 01:17:07 +0000 UTCHey, Patrons--
The following is a post I just made on the YouTube Version of The GameOverGreggy Show Episode 132. Monday, I'll put it on the breakout and the forum with the breakout for context, but as you're the hardest of the hardcore, I wanted you and your early access to the episode to have as much context as possible.

Jorge over on Twitter just pointed out that I "slipped up" at 40:48 in this episode. Having no idea what he was referring to, I came by to watch it. If you click over, Colin talks about a TV show getting better 20 hours in or whatever, and it sounds like I say "That's that gay video game bullshit."
To say that I'm shocked is a bit of an understatement. I haven't called something I didn't like "gay" since my friend Graham explained how much that hurt gay people like himself our freshman year of college. It's a story I've told a bunch on our shows.
The only thing I can think is that I was starting to say something else, switched gears, and never thought "Hey, wait, what you just left hanging sounds like you called it gay." The fact that no one reacts or stops me makes me think it's not how it sounded in the room. If that word choice was a conscious effort, I assure you someone would've stopped the show to address it -- myself included.
Perhaps I was mentally prepping for Colin's topic -- a topic where I believe I talk about not using "gay" as a derogatory adjective -- and had that kind of speech on the mind.
Regardless, I fucked up.
There's a comment on this video that catches it -- maybe it's Jorge again :) -- and almost gives me a nudge to delete it from the episode before it goes live for the general public. To dodge any trouble come Monday. (I'm writing this when this episode is only available for Patreon supporters.)
That's entirely the wrong message to send. Just like you, I'm human and make mistakes. I clearly made a mistake here. I can assure you from the bottom of my heart that I was not purposely calling anything "gay," but somehow I did. I'm sorry for that.
And I know tons of you are saying you don't care and that you use that word that way all the time, but that's why I'm sorry. That's not OK. We're all human, and we all need to be better to each other. I'm sorry for all the gay fans we have that have to deal with that word being thrown around that way; I've tried to use the forum I have to tell people how wrong that is, but here I am perplexed to be on the other side of the argument.
I'll strive to be better -- we all should.
Greg

Man this is why I love all the guys at Kinda Funny. You're just the best people on the Internet in my irrelevant opinion!
2016-06-16 13:17:08 +0000 UTCMuch respect for not editing it out before it went live on YouTube this week. It definitely sounds like the worst case, but I think you get a pass for making this post and being so vocal about how "that's not okay", in the past.
