Just wanted to pass along my heartfelt thanks for Friday.
If you missed it, it was my birthday and I asked you for a gift -- $1. On Twitter, the Kinda Funny Morning Show, and Kinda Funny Games Daily, I asked current patrons to up their pledge by a buck and un-pledged Best Friends to come kick us a buck.
Many of you answered my call.
I know this will sound dumb, but we're not great at fundraising. Sure, sure, sure -- our business is founded on it, but we're bad at reminding you about it in a way that isn't just part of the rigmarole between you and the podcast content you want.
You make Kinda Funny happen. We don't remind you enough that without you, none of this happens. When we don't, subscriptions lapse, people think we do not need their help, and so on. I don't want you ever thinking that you're not the driving force of this place.
To be clear: Kinda Funny's fine. This wasn't a hail Mary or anything. I had just heard a podcast I love ask me for support, and I thought I'd do the same.
