Spoilers for videos and thoughts Week of September 30!
Added 2022-09-30 03:41:30 +0000 UTCSpoilers on the upcoming video tomorrow.
Tainted Grail - by far and away the biggest winner this week obviously. It really wasn’t going to be much of a contest but the interesting thing is where it’s going to go from here. If you’re someone that’s looking to get into it at this point is there really any motivation or reason to buy the first one or just buy the second one for a better gaming experience overall. Plus, the significant amount of hype that’s on the page makes me a little bit cautious especially with my recent experience with etherfields as well. I think it’s also a little telling that they even stated in one of the updates already that they really didn’t address any of the issues or concerns with the original base game until very recently and for that reason even the upgrade pack might not even be available to people for a year.
I mentioned it in the video as well but I’m really wondering if someone from awaken realms and or gamefound watches my channel because those quotes that I thought were a little bit over the top last week have been changed significantly and moved down to a much further/lower spot on the page as well as de-emphasized a lot overall. If you guys remember a while back they offered to do sponsored spots and pay me for some gamefound promotion but that has well… Obviously not happened in a while and I just get the feeling that they don’t really like me. Plus I didn’t get paid for at least one…
Terraforming mars dice game: I’m backing this right now and I think I’m going to keep it but I think there’s a really big similarity in the game flow, not necessarily the mechanisms, between this and Ares expedition. Similar to above, do you really need both? I think a lot of people are probably going to say no which is why I don’t think it’s gonna fund nearly as high but I think mechanistically it’s considerably different but the dice rolling is gonna be a turn off I think for a fair number of people as well or people have been not interested in the small amount of extras that they’re offering as well during the campaign
Leaf: probably one of the prettiest aesthetic games in recent memory from the publisher of Canopy. I’m not sure if the gameplay stacks up or is even as deep as necessarily canopy was but it takes the cake for probably looking the best and having the best deluxification this week overall.
The upcoming video for this week it’s going to be something different as well as I’m highlighting all the big names of October rather than just talking about the games next week so tune in for that one because there are some big names as well. The first three weeks of October could be potentially one of the most expensive times that we’ve seen this year overall, and I know I’ve said that in the past but there’s a lot going on that’s all of a sudden sprung up.
peace!

That's exactly my problem. Tainted Grail - I'm jumping between: none, just second, just first, all in. Honestly I don't know.
