For In Review, I like Nick's sentiment where the films are connected somehow, whether it's by genre or something. To have abstract movies kinda loses the feel of In Review for me anyway. I get that when the next franchise is announced, the people not interested drop out for weeks. But I'd love to see John Hughes movies reviewed.

2020-05-29 15:43:14 +0000 UTCI like the idea of a tournament in review, but have similar theme to the movies. Like Dude where is my card, harold and kumar, american pie etc. Like don't throw in movies that don't fit into the tournament.

2020-05-29 14:07:02 +0000 UTCI'm in this boat too. It gives the audience a chance to contribute, but with a focus so its not overwhelming to the crew to pick. But to Greg's point someone who is not interested in 80's action will miss a few episodes worth of content. Though, if they did a master announcement, they could cycle the genre to keep audience interest. Do a 3 or 4 genre cycle. Whatever gets me closer to the sliver of chance of Down Periscope in review, I'm happy.
2020-05-29 00:11:34 +0000 UTCI personally enjoy the movie series in-review because like as Nick said there's a sanctity to watching a movie series and its sequels. I'd like to see a continuation of this with smaller franchises or different genres. Examples off the top of my head would be Godfather, Predator, Rambo, Alien, Die hard, Conjuring, Nolan, Horror Franchises, and Bill and Ted in-review. I'd also like to see a poll on patreon for what the next in-review series will be once one concludes. That way patrons can either suggest or help decide what the next in-review series will be. Also we could possibly do a Dude, where's my car in-review akin to the detective pickachu in-review last year.

2020-05-28 23:53:55 +0000 UTCHey guys, first off thanks for another hilarious episode, I really enjoyed the crossover banter! I think you should pick a genre during a certain time period, for example 90s comedies, or 80s action movies etc. Then select 12 movies (if it's the "3 month" model) from Patreon submissions, that you think would be the most entertaining to review and compare and contrast. I feel like that would make it easier to rank them, which, I agree with Nick here, would otherwise kind of defeat the point. Maybe to switch it up, so it feels less like a regular In Review series, what Tim was trying to get at, you could do a head-to-head bracket, winner takes all instead. That way you could do two similar movies and then eliminate the worse one, and have the other continue on to the next level (like playoffs in sports). Just spitballing here.
2020-05-28 17:55:40 +0000 UTCI honestly like both ideas, because there are also some random one off movies that don't really necessarily represent a genre (like The Room or something) that I think could be fun to pit against other movies in a bit more of a random way. On the other hand I think for the sake of discussion and ranking it would be better to have movies that at least have something in common so you can compare them and so it doesn't become 100% nonsensical.

2020-05-28 16:03:32 +0000 UTCFor the final question, I would love to have Gregs Idea, because then all patreons could be involved. However, I can understand Nick and Andy argument, so maybe could be a mix of both ideas, like you guys select 80s action movies, we submit movies, the 20 you prefer a poll is created and then the 12 with more votes are the ones selected.
