To sate his appetite, he hatches a plan: harvest soul power to create an artifact that can unleash widespread devastation and suffering, and ultimately bring about the silence of undeath upon the surface world. He brings his followers to the city of Verwater in the Brush Bog swamp to seek the rituals necessary to harvest and crystallize soul power into usable mana, and serve as the initial infection site.
